The CrimsonPlus builds on the performance of the original Crimson. The same conductors, insulation and braided shields are carried over but with the addition of a new foil shielding, inspired by the design used on the Solstice interconnect. Our entry level interconnect now carries higher levels of information over a wider band width and with greater tonal and dynamic accuracy. Chord CrimsonPlus produces a balanced, involving and coherent musical performance, the perfect choice for any entry level hi-fi or home cinema system. The improved shielding also makes CrimsonPlus perform extremely well over longer lengths, making this a great cable for subwoofers.
Crimson is fitted with Chord's own gold-plated RCA plugs and is also available fitted with Din plugs, minijacks and almost any other termination you might need. It really is a versatile cable.
Musically, the Crimson has an extremely well balanced set of abilities and whatever the system, Crimson can be relied upon to produce an entertaining and enjoyable sound.
What to use it with
CD players, DVD players and tuners are the obvious contenders but as mentioned above, the Crimson is a great choice for entry level SACD and DVD audio players. The wider band width really pays dividends here. A good cable to use for Din connectors for both Naim and older Quad equipment. The design of the cable also allows us to configure Crimson so that it performs really well with subwoofers. Long lengths present no problem at all.
