As an upgrade to 'The Composer' you expect to hear sweeter, grain-less highs and depth-defying lows. With 'The Conductor CA1' you get all this and more at quite an extraordinary price. 'The Conductor' is proprietary double-braided and is terminated using our MACH1Cu non-compressing, conjugate bracket hard gold-plated (vastly superior terminations to those used on similarly priced interconnect from ANY of our competitors) RCA phono plugs.
A word about our unique terminations: The terminations at the ends of cables are part of the transmission path and therefore vital to it. They must not impede the delicate audio signal as inappropriate termination on a cable changes the so called characteristic impedence (and other electrical attributes) of the cable.
To maintain the quality of the all-important interface between interconnect and component and compatibility between wire material and plug, Ecosse has developed our unique non-compressing constant impedance MACH1Cu deep copper plated RCA plug.
This high quality RCA plug consists of a centre pin and conjugate bracket shield* which together offer going and return paths for the audio signal. To maintain continuity and optimum conductivity, these contact points are made from copper - same as the conductor wire itself.(others use 'flash-gold' plating which is a very thin coating that wears away very quickly and soon looks tarnished-you have been warned!). The plug casing is precision machined from highest quality copper alloy and is deep-plated. This thick casing offers further shielding - effectively a second 'Faraday Cage' - and reduces the ingress and radiation of EMI, ESI and RFI 'noise' even further, to virtually zero.
To maintain continuity and optimum conductivity, these contact points are made from OFC copper - same as the conductor wire itself-don't be fooled by inferior yet similar-looking impure brass plugs as used by some of there competitors, these are cheap and nasty! In there RCA's, both centre pin and the return terminals (or "shells") are either direct gold or silver hard-plated OFC copper.
The plug casing is precision machined from highest quality copper alloy and is deep-plated. This thick casing offers further shielding - effectively a second 'Faraday Cage' - and reduces the ingress and radiation of EMI, ESI and RFI 'noise' even further, to virtually zero.
The interface of shields* and casing is one of high mechanical impedance, dissipating energy and rendering microphonic effects negligible. The full assembly represents Ecosse's Premier Plus Grade RCA termination for smaller diameter cables and we believe the Ecosse MACH1 RCA to be the best available price wise, electrically, mechanically and aesthetically - anywhere!
*These shells/ shields are designed to perform a 5-fold function:
They provide a terminal to which the return/screen conductors can be firmly crimped and Super-soldered.
They incorporate tiny teeth that grip the cable firmly and evenly around its circumference without compressing the cable and thereby maintain the cable's characteristic impedance right up to the solder joint.
When assembled, they form a Faraday cage, screening the signal right up to and including the RCA socket.
They form a union of high mechanical impedance with the outer casing, dissipating energy and therefore rendering the plug immune to the effects of microphony.
They firmly locate and clamp the centre pin's polypropylene dielectric, which, in conjunction with the outer casing, results in a strong, stable and extremely durable structure.
You will perceive more information, even greater dynamics and more solid sound staging - bringing you ever closer to the music as the artist intended it to be heard- than you could reasonably expect from any cable around this price point.
Use of our new Supersolder™ - lead-free ultra high purity/high silver content solders has also added significantly to the sonic benefits offered by The Conductor.
CS2.3 or CS4.45 biwire loudSpeaker cable or our new-dedicated CS4.4 biwire compliments 'The Conductor CA1' particularly well. Better still try our new ES2.2 Ultrafine™ stranded 'speaker' cable in combination with 'The Conductor', the price-per-performance ratio will astonish.
"Able to pound out the heaviest of beats with the best of them without losing any of the speed and detail from the original recording it's a sure-fire buy for rockers and dance fans alike. Switch to classical and the cable's a winner too…" WHAT HI-FI? AWARDS 2000/2001.
"Ecosse is fast becoming a name synonymous with everything that's quality about cable-and that includes its CA1 interconnect." WHAT HI-FI? SOUND & VISION ULTIMATE GUIDE 2001.
"It has an even touch that allows all genres of music to sound their best." WHAT HI-FI? SOUND & VISION ULTIMATE GUIDE 2003.

Ecosse is the name on the worlds finest cables. In terms of price versus performance, musicality and fidelity, Ecosse Cables are without peer.
All Ecosse Cables are painstakingly researched and developed - then hyper evaluated to destruction on the very best 2-channel music system used by ANY cable company in the UK.
Ecosse are proud to have introduced single crystal grain free Monocrystal™ copper (and silver) to the mainstream UK audiophile market back in 1997 and we continued this tradition with our unique Super Monocrystal™ loudspeaker cables in the mid 2000s.
Ecosse Cables are handcrafted in our factory in Scotland by the finest technicians who between them have decades of experience in cable termination. It should come as no surprise then that since the year 2000 Ecosse Cables are the most celebrated cable company in terms of awards, reviews and reputation in the UK.
