The MiniSub has always been at the heart of ISOL-8, providing class leading performance at an affordable price. Improving the MiniSub was a real challenge, thousands of satisfied MiniSub owners across the world proved that it was going to be a difficult act to follow. Through careful development and adaptation we have managed to incorporate many of the innovative technologies found in the highly regarded flagship ISOL-8 SubStations, taking the all new MiniSub Wave and MiniSub Axis a substantial step forward whilst remaining outstanding value for money.
Both the MiniSub Wave and MiniSub Axis share the same fundamental layout and filter complement. The differing technical requirements of low and high current loads are reflected in the separated filter topology found in both versions.
For low current loads, such as source components, each outlet has a separate filter network. This is the feature that made the original MiniSub such a ground breaking product. It reduces system component cross contamination, stopping mains borne noise from one system component affecting others.
Unlike most other conditioners, which only deal with common mode noise, the low/med power outlets can suppress both common and differential mode noise, armed with a new Transmodal filter topology.
For more demanding loads, the separate high power section gets a new multistage filter using custom wound components. This cleans current hungry, noisy components like amplifiers much more effectively than before, without squashing dynamic performance.
"Because mains quality varies according to location, products like the Isol-8 MiniSub Wave really need to be auditioned in situ. Nevertheless Iím confident that most hi-fi enthusiasts will find this unit delivers very worthwhile benefits, even to those with fairly clean mains." HiFi Choice Recommended March 2012.
"The ISOL-8 MiniSub Wave provides a significant aural improvement to your music Ė whether that be via a digital or analogue source. It wonít conjure up new musical strengths but it will allow your hi-fi to properly perform to its true potential, quite possibly for the first time." HiFi World April 2012.

Nic Poulson founded Isol-8 Teknologies in 2003.Nic's background was originally in broadcast engineering. He trained and worked for the BBC as a sound engineer and the corporation's legendary high standards made a deep impression on him. He learned that the way to achieve true quality is to strive for excellence in every area and accept nothing less.
After leaving the BBC, Nic had become an established electronics designer with success in both audio amplification, with ISOL-8's sister company Trilogy Audio Systems. He then formed IsoTek Systems after identifying the need to tackle the problems of compromised power supply in Hi-Fi and AV systems. An area he believed was being misunderstood and neglected by mainstream manufacturers. ISOL-8 was then founded to continue developing Nicís ideas.
Nic pioneered the use of multiple filter sections to tackle noise cross contamination between audio components. He also has championed the use of DC blocking to further improve sound quality. The use of Transmodal filter technology which blocks common and differential mode noise without shunting the noise to ground is, we believe, unique to ISOL-8 in audio and AV applications.
Product Designer Simon Dart and Nic are both keen audiophiles. Together they have the balance of skills to innovate and deliver exceptional products. Above all they have the passion to push forward the standards of reproduced sound. This passion is what makes ISOL-8 the leading force in power conditioning.
