WHAT IS S-VIDEO?
The S-Video (separated Video), sometimes known as Y/C and S-VHS, is an analog video signal. The picture produced by an S-Video connection normally apears much better then that of a standard composite video connection. The improved quality is due to the fact that the television does no have to sepearate the brightness and color signals.
Most S-Video connectors are generally 4-pin mini-DIN connectors using a 75 ohm termination impedance. The S-video signal can degrade even over very short distances so the choice of cable is extreamly important.
WHY USE OXYGEN FREE COPPER?
The QED One series cables uses oxygen free copper in all its interconnects and speaker cables. Oxygen free copper is produced in a way that virtually eliminates the oxygen content. Because there are fewer impurities in this type of copper it improves its conductivity.
WHY USE GOLD CONNECTORS?
In conditions under which most other metals either tarnish or corrode away, gold remains inert and extremely durable. So where resistance to tarnish or corrosion is essential, such as in plugs where tarnish can obscure a signal. It is import to either use gold, a gold alloy, or to plate gold onto a less noble metal. All this means is that the performance of gold electroplating remain essentially unaltered with time. |
