WHAT IS TOSLINK?
TOSLINK™ is a standard that is used to send an audio and other signals though optical fibre. There can be different grades of toslink cabling, with the cheaper cables using inexpensive plastic optical fibre, to the highend using quartz glass optical fibres. The grade needed depending on the bandwidth requirements of the connection.
The primary use today is when connecting DVD players to Dolby Digital/DTS decoder sound systems. Toslink cable can have many different connector types. However, when being used for audio signals the JIS F05 connector are normally used as is the case with the QED One series of cable.
