Now introducing the new EX software upgrade with all Melco units. This new software increases the ease of use of the Melco system by adding much greater flexibility to your music library. Browsing and searching your library has never been easier. Both SongKong and Minimserver have been fully integrated to the Melco software, offering an incredibly powerful music library management solution for correct and consistent data.

If internet radio is of more interest to you, then you'll be glad to hear that vTuner Internet Radio has been added to the Melco software and can be utilised by connecting your Melco device to a USB DAC and using the Malco iPad app to control the input. In due course, there will be another update offering the option for the Melco to be viewed as a Roon Endpoint.

Melco introduces the radical new Model N100. Staying true to every aspect of a Melco high performance digital music library, but at a new price point. Melco has broken new ground with an exciting new cosmetic, stepping away from traditional Hi-Fi component design.

N100 uses the same extreme low-noise high precision digital music dataflow of the existing Melco series. N100 is designed from the start as an audio specific device – it uses no standard IT components or PC parts.

A new low profile mainboard uses the exact same RISC processor and architecture as the N1Z series ensuring very low noise with precise data management. Twin Ethernet ports are retained with the dedicated Ethernet Player port connecting directly to the network player without an intervening dataswitch, ensuring that packet order and timing is maintained.

Internal storage is 2TB HDD. Easily expandable by either IT USB HDD or the Melco E100 to maintain sound quality. USB connected DAC allows the N100 to perform as a self-contained local HiRes Digital Music player. Data rates up to 32bit 384kHz and Octo DSD are supported. All Gapless and with Melco Markerless DSD fully supported. Control of the USB-DAC player is from the new Melco App, from the front panel, or from approved third-party RF Remote handset N100 will operate with both USB DAC and also Ethernet connected player even without connection to a data network – standalone Isolated Mode.

N100 creates a convenient and compact Hi-Fi system when used with a USB-DAC Headphone amplifier or USB connected Active Loudspeakers. Sound Quality of N100 is true to the Melco tradition and will not be outclassed in a high-end system.

Store and Management

The music files once saved to N100 can be played through LAN and USB. CD import using any USB connected optical disc drive with metadata and album art added from Gracenote database. Compatible with MELCO D100 high performance CD loader. CD can be played directly without importing into connected USB-DAC in the manner of a high-end CD player. Convenient downloading of Hires music directly into Melco N100 without need for a network computer from HiResAudio.com and other vendors.

Playing music files

N100 will collate and arrange the complete music library and offers browse by Album, Artist, Data format, Date of recording, Composer etc. Browse and play is possible from the N100 front panel or App on smartphone or tablet. N100 supports all high res music formats up to 32bit 384kHz and Octo DSD.

Simple Operation

N100 is ready to use once language and time zone has been selected. Additional advanced features, all accessible from the simple front panel interface, allow for customization.
