The Melco S100 is quite an unusual architecture compared to an IT data switch. There are four 100Mb RJ45 ports – these provide the best audio quality, and there are four 1Gb ports – these are ideal for PC connectivity and the Roon Core processor which generates high traffic flow. Two additional SFP ports allow for the connection of optical fibre for components such as Lumin that support it.

The S10 is Melco's flagship, high performance switch and is quite an unusual architecture compared to an IT dataswitch. There are four 100Mb RJ45 ports – these provide the best audio quality. The new C100 Ethernet cable directly replaces Melco’s debut Ethernet cable, the C1AE, with a number of noise reduction upgrades and improved networked audio sound quality.

The PLiXiR Statement DC cable is an excellent choice for those looking to upgrade their Melco N10 or N10/2 power supply. This cable is made from high-quality materials, such as silver plated, high purity copper conductors, a full Teflon dielectric made to military spec, and features 5 Pin Neutrik Gold Plated XLR Connectors. The standard length of this cable is 0.6m, but longer lengths can be requested if needed.

When a Melco Digital Music Library is connected to a USB-DAC, local stored music will play into the DAC and music selection and control is usually from a Tablet with an App such as Linn Kazoo. Additionally music can be selected and played directly from the front panel OLED and navigated with the Melco front panel buttons. This allows operation even without any network connection and the elimination of network comms improves sound quality. But it may be rather inconvenient to sit by the Melco within touching distance.

The Elite BDC (Balanced Direct Current) Power Supply by PLiXiR benefits from two stages of regulation- an open-loop first-stage and a closed-loop feedback second stage. This means that the Elite BDC can scrub noise out of your power source, helping your hifi setup sing. This product comes as a stack, with both rated at 12V/2A.
