Tungsten powder, and the physics of particle damping
Paul Fowler spent three years developing these before launch, and the patent covers the part that matters: a sealed chamber of calibrated tungsten powder inside each foot.
Particle damping is established engineering rather than an audio invention. Loose granules inside a cavity absorb vibratory energy through friction and momentum exchange as they collide, and the effect works across a wide frequency range rather than at one tuned point. Tungsten is the choice because it is exceptionally dense and non-magnetic, which is why it turns up in rivet guns and as aircraft counterweights.
The end plates are a tungsten alloy whose composition was tuned by listening, and the chamber is aircraft grade stainless steel. To test whether the tungsten was doing the work rather than the shape, Tungsten Grooves built the same feet in steel, copper and composite and compared them. They also report the effect strengthening over the first five to ten minutes as the feet warm.
There is no need to remove your component's existing feet, since these sit between the chassis and the shelf. Position is worth experimenting with, because where you place them under a chassis changes the result. The model names give the dimensions: W for diameter, H for height, both in millimetres.
