Isolating below the frequencies that matter
Max Townshend's argument was that most isolation products address the wrong frequency range. Spikes and hard feet do nothing below a few hundred hertz, and it is the low frequency energy travelling through a floor that does the damage.
The Seismic products use air springs, tuned so that the resonant frequency of the support sits below the audible range. Above that point the isolation is genuine rather than partial, which is the same principle used to isolate laboratory equipment and buildings.
The Seismic Podiums for speakers are the products the company is best known for, and the effect on a suspended wooden floor is usually the most obvious demonstration of what isolation can do.
Townshend also make cables, and the Isolda speaker cable has a long-standing following.
