The company that makes the fix for the problem you did not know you had
iFi launched in 2012 as a more affordable offshoot of AMR, the high-end British manufacturer, and inherited a lot of engineering from it. That is why a product costing under two hundred pounds sometimes contains a circuit topology borrowed from something costing ten times as much.
The DAC and headphone amplifier lines are the visible part of the business. ZEN covers the desktop range at accessible prices, Micro and Diablo sit above it, and GO covers the portable dongles and small players.
The less visible part is arguably more useful. iFi make an unusually large catalogue of accessories aimed at specific problems: iPower supplies that replace noisy switch-mode wall warts, iPurifier and iDefender products that address USB power and ground issues, iGalvanic for isolation, and a range of adaptors and filters. Most of them cost little and solve something identifiable, which makes them among the easier recommendations we make.
The industrial design is idiosyncratic and the product names are a lot to keep track of. That is a fair criticism, and it is part of why the chips below group them.
