Termination:
Each speaker cable is terminated to a high standard by Tellurium’s Engineers in the UK using quality banana or spade plugs. With recommend customers use Tellurium’s gold-plated banana plugs where possible. The design of this connector achieves a full 360° of contact when it’s inserted into a binding post maximising signal flow from the cable into the plug and then from the plug into the binding post.

Your cable will be dispatched as soon as it has been made by Future Shop's or the manufacturer’s engineers and has completed the specified burn-in process (if any), subject to Future Shop’s Terms & Conditions and stock availability.

Tellurium Q builds its cables in Somerset around one problem: phase distortion. Its designers start from the view that every material in the signal path acts as a filter, and they combine multiple stranded conductors, different dielectric materials and different geometries to reduce the effect. Three families, three balances
The Silver range is designed to give silver-like character without harshness. The Black range, which includes Black Diamond, aims for a transparent and lifelike presentation. The Blue range adds a little warmth to balance a bright system. You can pick the family that matches your system before choosing a level.
Several levels within each family
Each family has three levels: the standard models (Silver III, Black II and Blue II), the Ultra II models and the Diamond models, with a Statement line alongside them. You can choose a family for its balance first, then decide which level suits your system and budget.

Tellurium Q makes speaker cables, interconnects, power cables and jumpers or links across its families. Because all of them come from one design approach, you can carry the same thinking from source to speaker, using a family chosen for its balance for every cable in the chain.
Why we stock Tellurium Q
Tellurium Q are the brand customers tell us about unprompted. Black is the range that sells and the one people return to buy more of, usually after hearing what a single interconnect did. Fourteen years of selling them and the feedback has not shifted, which is rarer than it sounds.
New cables (even high-quality ones) benefit from a period of signal conditioning before reaching their optimum performance. The dielectric (insulation) around the conductors needs time to stabilise under the electromagnetic field created by signal flow. Rather than leaving this to you, we run cables on our Nordost Vidar burn-in machine before dispatch, up to the equivalent of 200 hours of use, in a fraction of the time. Your cable arrives performance-ready from the first listen.
We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.

Please take note of the following details regarding our cable burn-in service:
- Cable Compatibility: We regret to inform you that we cannot burn-in cables with stripped bare ends or BFA plugs. In order for cables to undergo the burn-in process, they should be terminated or have connectors.
- Timing: Cables will be burnt in for the selected period after processing your order. For custom-length cables, the burn-in process will occur after they have been terminated by the manufacturer or our engineers unless specified otherwise in the product description.
- Availability: Future Shop provides our cable burn-in service free of charge, but its availability is at our discretion. While we strive to fulfil all burn-in requests for the specified time periods, please understand that during exceptionally busy periods, we may be unable to meet the demand due to limited connections on the Nordost Vidar cable conditioning machines.
The Nordost VIDAR cable burn-in machine integrates three key functions into one operation:
- Charge Neutralisation: It eliminates charges that accumulate around the cables and their insulation, ensuring a more balanced electrical environment.
- Deep Conditioning: The machine provides a wide band and deep conditioning process that affects the conductor core, resulting in changes to the signal transmission through the metal. This deep conditioning enhances the cable's performance.
- Ultrasonic Surface Conditioning: The VIDAR machine utilizes ultrasonic waves to condition the surface of the conductors, optimizing their contact and overall conductivity.
The VIDAR employs a proprietary combination of composite and complex signals to condition the cables. These signals comprise ultra-low and ultra-high frequencies, extending beyond the range of video frequencies. The signal moves back and forth along the cable, penetrating deep into the core with ultra-low frequencies and traversing the surface with ultra-high frequencies. Each speaker cable is terminated to a high standard by Tellurium’s Engineers in the UK using quality banana or spade plugs. With recommend customers use Tellurium’s gold-plated banana plugs where possible. The design of this connector achieves a full 360° of contact when it’s inserted into a binding post maximising signal flow from the cable into the plug and then from the plug into the binding post.

Tellurium Q are the brand customers tell us about unprompted. Black is the range that sells and the one people return to buy more of, usually after hearing what a single interconnect did. Fourteen years of selling them and the feedback has not shifted, which is rarer than it sounds.
New cables (even high-quality ones) benefit from a period of signal conditioning before reaching their optimum performance. The dielectric (insulation) around the conductors needs time to stabilise under the electromagnetic field created by signal flow. Rather than leaving this to you, we run cables on our Nordost Vidar burn-in machine before dispatch, up to the equivalent of 200 hours of use, in a fraction of the time. Your cable arrives performance-ready from the first listen.
We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. My system is Quad Artera Play+, Pre and Power, with PMC Twenty5.21i, in a small room, and I already had Ultra Black IIs for my interconnects, so I had a hunch that adding the speaker cables from the same range would work well, but I wasn’t prepared for the massive upgrade to my listening that ensued.
A great tonal balance, all the liveliness of the Silver II with none of the drawbacks, and amazing dynamics. Very punchy. Great vocal clarity. Much more detail, more scale, more sweetness, it’s basically all gravy, as they say. And they sounded great straight away, after the 96-hour burn-in (cheers for that, guys). These are keepers.
Full marks to TQ, and full marks to Future Shop for their helpful advice (again), and excellent service (again). When punting out £1100 on speaker cables, any nervousness was nullified by Future Shop’s 60-day returns period and their all-around helpfulness.
Previous reviews cover all the virtues of these cables, but for me, the biggest noticeable difference is in the soundstage, which spreads across the whole horizontal plane and extends way beyond the speakers. A totally engaging listen.
A note on burn-in, which I found interesting. I didn't get the shop burn in, and I thought they would gradually improve over time; however, at about 100 hours, there was a sudden change, which I couldn't quite believe - everything just seemed to open up. I thought it must be the record that I had on, but I tried others and they were all the same; a jaw-dropping moment.
My amplifier and speakers individually have five-star reviews, and I now understand why they get those ratings.
I admit I felt a bit queasy ordering speaker cables costing over £1000, but I don't regret it for one minute.
Quite simply, I had to search my mind (and my dictionary) to find superlatives which would convey the transcendental transformation changing my beloved 12-year-old TQ Black I’s to the Ultra Black II’s has wrought upon my listening experience via my ProAc D20R speakers (bi-amped).
The 96hr VIDAR burn-in, kindly provided for by the always excellent Futureshop team, is essential - to which (as many others have said elsewhere on these pages) you need to add at least another 104 hours of continuous looped playback (the TQ system disc helps) to reach their full potential.
The depth of the sound stage has increased profoundly; the rendition of voice artists (try Mediterraneo by L’Arpeggiata) is astonishingly accurate and visceral, as are the timbres and attack of stringed instruments, rhythm and timing - spot on, musicality - magnificent…I could go on, but I fear I have taken up too much of your time, dear reader and seeker of superlative sound. Yes, the cost is eye-watering, but if you think of the TQ UB2’s as a component upgrade rather than ‘just’ cables, then it makes some sense; well, to me, it does, and given that these might be the last speaker cables that I ever buy, good value for money - made in Britain too! Three cheers for Tellurium Q…!!!
The new, longer cables of the same spec have not been 'run in' - at my request - as I wanted to do this, but the new cables need no running in! I wonder whether the extra length has made a material difference - or whether the latest spec TQ UB IIs have been quietly upgraded? The new, un-run-in 5m cables are performing at least as well, if not better, as their shorter-length older brothers.
Both systems are running better than before!
Upgrading to the TQ Ultra Black MK 2 + jumpers really opened up my current speakers. Dimensionality and imaging were hugely improved, and I was dubious moving from what I considered to be excellent TQ Black MK IIs. Worth every penny.
As the summary says, these sound like something created with magick and alchemy. Sublime.
