Shunyata's approach: measurement before description
Caelin Gabriel came to audio from signal intelligence work, where the job was extracting small signals from noisy environments. That background shapes everything Shunyata do, and it explains the company's unusual second market.
Shunyata power products are used in cardiac catheterisation labs, where imaging equipment has to resolve fine detail in the presence of a great deal of electrical interference. Hospitals do not buy on listening impressions. They buy on measured reduction in noise, and the fact that Shunyata designs pass that test is the strongest external validation any power product in hi-fi has.
The technologies follow from it. Kinetic Phase Inversion is a conditioning process applied to conductors during manufacture. The noise reduction circuits in the distributors are the same designs used in the medical products rather than a consumer approximation of them. Shunyata also publish their own measurement instrument work, which is rare.
There is a commercial honesty here worth noting. Shunyata's own advice is that the distributor does more for a system than an upgraded power cable, which points spend away from their higher cable ranges. In our experience that advice is right.

Shunyata run one ladder across every cable type, so a Delta power cable and a Delta interconnect sit at the same level. The Denali and Everest distributors sit outside the ladder, and Shunyata's own position is that distribution should be addressed before moving up a cable level.
