Furutech occupy an unusual position. They sell finished cables and power products under their own name, but they are just as significant as a component supplier: a large number of cable brands terminate their products with Furutech plugs, sometimes saying so and sometimes not.
That gives the company a different set of priorities from a cable house. The focus is on the connector itself, on the metallurgy, the plating, the contact pressure and what happens at the joint between conductor and pin. Furutech's Alpha process treats conductors cryogenically and with a demagnetising cycle, and it is applied to the metal parts rather than to a finished cable.
NCF is the development they are best known for. Nano Crystal² Formula is a material incorporated into plug bodies and accessories that Furutech say converts vibration into heat and reduces static build-up. It appears across the connector range and in the NCF Booster supports.
The catalogue is wide, from DIY plugs at a few pounds through to reference mains cables and distributors, which makes Furutech useful both to people building their own cables and to people buying finished ones.
