Choosing the right termination
The plug is the last few centimetres of the signal path and the part most likely to degrade over time. Oxidised contacts and loose fittings cost more performance than most people expect, and they are cheap to put right.
Banana plugs are the standard choice in the UK and fit most binding posts. BFA connectors are common on Naim equipment and some other British amplifiers. Spades give a larger contact area and suit binding posts that clamp tightly, though they need room behind the equipment. Check what your amplifier and speakers accept before ordering, since some binding posts are shrouded and will not take a spade.
Jumper links replace the metal link plates on bi-wireable speakers and are one of the cheapest improvements available if you are running a single-wire cable. If you would rather have terminations fitted than fit them yourself, we terminate cable to order free of charge.
