Hi-Fi Cartridges

The ES-78 is Gold Note's entry-level phono cartridge. It featuresa Moving Magnet and conical diamond, and has an output level of 4mV. Like all Gold Note products, the ES-78 is exclusively comprised of components sourced and assembled in Italy.

The Vasari Red phono cartridge is the first step up from the ES-78 in Gold Note's range. Built from a ultra-damping photopolymer resin body and an output level of 4mV, the Vasari Red also features an aluminium cantilever and a 15.5μm conical diamond stylus. Like all Gold Note products, the Vasari Red is exclusively comprised of components sourced and assembled in Italy.

The Vasari Gold phono cartridge is the next step up from the Vasari Red in Gold Note's range. Built from a duralumin (aluminium, copper and magnesium alloy) body and an output level of 4mV, the Vasari Gold also features an aluminium cantilever and a 7.5×15.5μm elliptical diamond stylus. Like all Gold Note products, the Vasari Gold is exclusively comprised of components sourced and assembled in Italy.

The Donatello Gold is essentially a low-output version of the Donatello Red, with an output level of 0.5mVmV. It also consists of a duralumin body (aluminium, copper and magnesium alloy) as well as an aluminium cantilever, and features a micro-elliptical diamond stylus for excellent contact with your vinyl record. Like all Gold Note products, the Donatello Gold is exclusively comprised of components sourced and assembled in Italy.

The Donatello Red is a high-output Moving Coil phono cartridge, the only such offering from Gold Note, with an output level of 1.8mV. It consists of a duralumin body (aluminium, copper and magnesium alloy) as well as an aluminium cantilever, and features a micro-elliptical diamond stylus for excellent contact with your vinyl record. Like all Gold Note products, the Donatello Red is exclusively comprised of components sourced and assembled in Italy.

The Hana EH MK II is a high-output moving coil cartridge with an elliptical stylus, Alnico magnet and threaded brass cap, giving 2mV to work directly with a standard moving magnet phono stage.

The Hana EL MK II is a low-output moving coil cartridge with an elliptical stylus, Alnico magnet and 8-ohm coil, built for a closer match with moving coil phono stages.

The LH-2000 is a basic high quality headshell designed specifically for HiFi applications. Providing a clean, minimalist aesthetic, the LH-2000 is great for a wide variety of cartridges, e.g. the 2M Series.

The LH-6000 is a high quality headshell is recommended for the MC Windfeld Ti and the Cadenza Series. Its rounded front portion facilitates proper mounting and compliments each of these cartridges.

Ortofon's 2M Red is an all-purpose cartridge designed to deliver an open, dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth. The weight and dimensions of the 2M Red are optimised for the most common turntables, offering a wide range of compatibility. The 2M Red cartridge is built with ‘Hopelex’, an environmentally-friendly material ensuring high-rigidity while eliminating unwanted resonances. The cartridge stylus is a tipped elliptical diamond connected to split pole pins with copper wire. This offers a high level of sonic accuracy at an affordable price.

Ortofon's 2M Blue is a step-up from the 2M Red, featuring a nude elliptical diamond which retains a close resemblance to the original cutting stylus used to create master records. Ortofon chooses to use a nude diamond starting form the Blue range as this offers greater transient reproduction and reduced mass in the tip of the stylus. These minor changes improve the resolution of the audio reproduction with greater dynamics and a more open soundstage.

Ortofon's 2M Bronze improves further on the 2M Blue by using a nude fine line diamond stylus. This stylus utilises a slimmer profile to track the higher frequency information more accurately. On top of this, the 2M Bronze has a specially upgraded engine with silver-plated copper wire to read and preserve as much frequency information as possible. Overall, the performance of your system with a 2M Bronze can improve with greater detail and resolution, preserving more of the original audio signal and ultimately improving your listening experience.
