Do you still need a separate power supply for the 5.2 version?
The Gold Note PH-5.2 phono stage can be upgraded with the PSX-5.2 power supply: https://www.futureshop.co.uk/gold-note-psx-5-2-dedicated-power-supply While the PH-5.2 performs well without the power supply upgrade, any phono stage benefits highly from improved power delivery to isolate the unit from the electronic noise that phono components are particularly susceptible to.
I want one 5m XT25 cable with banana plugs at both ends and one 3m cable the same
To order two differing lengths of cable, simply configure one cable as a quantity (QTY) of 1, select length, add your choice of plugs and click ADD TO CART. Repeat this for the second cable. You will then have two separate items.
Hello, I want to change fuses in my ROTEL RA 1592MK II for a better sound (Hifi-Tunning fuses), so please help me with some info: - I have 2 x 1A into the AC supply, so I must buy FAST or SLOW stroke? - It is necessary to change the fuses from each channel sound (2 x R channel, 2 x L channel) for a better sound, or just the 2 fuses from the AC supply? Thank you very much!
When it comes to internal fuses, we always ask customers to consult the manufacturer of their components for the correct fuse rating and size. For example, the slow-blow (T) type is, in most cases, crucial for high inrush currents such as transformers, but if a slow blow is in the wrong component, the component is likely to experience serious damage or pose other risks. Remember, a fuse is still a safety device, and we cannot take responsibility for incorrect installations. Although internal fuses are the most effective, I normally suggest that, if in doubt, simply change the mains plug fuse (with a suitable rating). This is safer and still very effective for improving sound.

I need an active USB cable to transfer data over 8m with no dropout: USB Type-A to Type-C Cable. Do you have anything you can recommend?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer an active long-length USB cable. This is because USB is unreliable above 5 meters and would be inappropriate for audio-grade applications.
Is it Bluetooth enabled ?

Hi, can these be used with a banana plug or is just for bare wire connections?
Hi Phil The QED Screwloc plugs are designed purely to accept bare wire inside
Is this compatible with BO6 HD+ Bluetooth receiver adaptor?
The iFi iPower 2 is available in a range of voltage variants. For example, if your unit requires 5V, as long as the current requirement is less than 2.5 amps, the iPower 2 will be the correct rating. The iPower 2 also comes with a selection of interchangeable output plugs and polarity inverter (if required).
Why does Van den Hul use carbon conductors in some of their speaker cables?
Van den Hul's research led A.J. van den Hul to conclude that metal conductors, including copper and silver, can introduce a subtle form of high-frequency distortion caused by the skin effect and the way electrons interact with the conductor's grain boundaries. Carbon-based conductors behave differently, avoiding these issues. The result, in Van den Hul's cables, is often described as a smoother, more natural top end with less listening fatigue over long sessions.
Do Van den Hul speaker cables need burning in?
Van den Hul cables, like most high-quality speaker cables, do benefit from a run-in period. Because their construction differs from conventional metal cables, the run-in process can take a little longer than average. Many users report that 100 to 150 hours of use sees the cables settle fully. Future Shop offers a professional cable burn-in service if you would prefer to skip the waiting period.
Do AudioQuest mains cables really make a difference to sound quality?
This is the most common question about any mains power cable, and it is a fair one. The honest answer is yes, in many systems, particularly those built around quality components that are sensitive to mains noise. The UK mains supply carries a significant amount of RF interference and noise from household devices, smart meters, and the broader electrical grid. AudioQuest mains cables are designed to reduce the amount of that noise reaching your equipment. The improvement tends to be most noticeable as a quieter background, better low-level detail, and a more stable, controlled sound.
Are AudioQuest mains cables safe to use in the UK?
Yes. AudioQuest mains cables sold through Future Shop are UK-spec, fitted with correctly rated and fused UK mains plugs. All cables meet the relevant safety standards. If you are ever unsure about a cable specification or have questions about earthing and safety, our team is happy to advise before you purchase.
Which AudioQuest mains cable should I start with?
The NRG Y3 is the most popular starting point and represents strong value at its price. It uses solid Long-Grain Copper conductors and AudioQuest's noise-dissipation technology in a practical, flexible design. If your system is built around components worth upwards of £2,000 each, the NRG-Z3 or Thunder would be a more proportionate investment.
Are Atlas speaker cables good value for the money?
Atlas cables consistently win praise from reviewers and customers alike for delivering genuine performance improvements at sensible price points. Their mid-range lines such as the Hyper and Equator regularly appear in best-buy lists, and even the entry-level Element cables outperform many generic alternatives. If you want a Scottish-made cable with a clear upgrade path, Atlas is hard to beat.
