SVS started in a garage in Youngstown, Ohio in 1998, building the cylindrical subwoofers that gave the company its name, out of frustration with what subwoofers cost at the time. The engineering priority has not moved since: money into the driver and the amplifier.
Subwoofers remain the core, and the naming tells you the design. SB means a sealed cabinet, trading ultimate output for tighter control and a smaller box. PB means ported, going deeper and louder in exchange for size. Current models carry DSP with room correction and parametric EQ adjustable from a phone rather than from a panel on the back.
SoundPath is the accessories line: subwoofer and speaker cables, wireless transmitters that remove the long cable run to a sub entirely, and elastomer isolation feet that decouple a cabinet from the floor. On a suspended wooden floor those feet are often the cheapest meaningful improvement available.
