The Atacama SLX Top Plate Pack solves a common problem with standmount speakers: the speaker is bigger than the stand's top plate. Atacama's SL and SLX stands come with 225mm x 225mm steel plates, which suit most compact speakers. Larger bookshelf designs, such as the MoFi SourcePoint 8 that Atacama cite, can overhang a plate that size. That looks wrong, and it leaves the speaker less stable than it should be. This pack swaps in a 280mm x 300mm plate on each stand, giving a much bigger footprint for the speaker to sit on.
The plates are not square, and that is deliberate. Each plate can be fitted with either the 280mm or the 300mm edge facing forward, so you can match the plate's depth to your speaker's rather than choosing from fixed sizes. The material is different too. Rather than steel, the plates are precision cut from 10mm black impregnated high density MDF. Atacama chose it because it is less resonant than steel, so the plate adds less colouration of its own and gives the speaker a quieter platform.
Fitting is simple, but note three things before ordering. The pack does not include bolts: the plates attach with the countersunk bolts that came with your SL or SLX stands, so keep them when you remove the original plates. Because the MDF is thicker than the steel it replaces, the finished stand will be about 8mm taller. Isolation gel pads are not included, so if you use them between stand and speaker, order them separately. The pack fits every model in the SL and SLX ranges and, like the stands themselves, is made in the UK.

Isolation is built into the rack
The Evoque Eco range uses ASIST damping gaskets as standard, along with a mechanical grounding system and modular isolation components. The SE2 versions add vectored resonance channels and contoured shelving. All of this is aimed at controlling vibration at the shelf, where it affects your sources.

Deliveries to EU member states are not subject to 20% VAT after December 31st 2020 and therefore the 20% VAT on items is automatically deducted when you log-in, register or proceed to place an order.
The customer will be liable for the VAT at the local VAT rate, duty on the import and the brokerage service fee if applicable. This may need to be paid in advance to your local Customs & Excise office or the delivery company before your order can be delivered.
We offer the following shipping services:
- Royal Mail First Class International Airmail Services - Items are usually delivered within 3 to 5 working days
- Royal Mail Standard International Mail Services - Items are usually delivered within 7-10 working days
- DHL Express International - Items are usually delivered within 24 to 48 hours. DHL orders must be received by 3:30pm for next day service to most destinations in Europe
- Federal Express International Priority - Items are usually delivered within 24 to 48 hours. FedEx orders must be received by 3.00pm for next day service to most destinations in Europe
- Federal Express International Economy - Item are usually delivered within 48 to 72 hours
We reserve the right to change your shipping method without notification if you select a method that we cannot use for your shipment (for instance, we cannot ship via postal services for items over 2 Kg to International destinations). If we need to change your shipping method, we will choose the least expensive shipping method for your order.
Worldwide - Excluding UK & Europe

- Federal Express International Priority - Items are usually delivered within 48 hours. FedEx orders must be received by 3.00pm in order to ship items the same day, subject to stock availability
- Where the actual weight of the package significantly exceeds the shipping cost charged on orders, we may write to you for an additional shipping charge. For larger orders, items may be shipped in multiple packets at our discretion
