AudioQuest expands your capability to stop noise contamination and current compression with the Niagara 3000. Like all AQ power products, Niagara 3000 showcases a comprehensive approach to AC power management—one grounded in verifiable science, representing over 20 years of exhaustive research into AC power.
The 3000 incorporates almost all of the sonically effective technology that distinguishes the award-winning Niagara Series—AQ’s patented AC Ground-Noise Dissipation System, Transient Power Correction, extremely wide-bandwidth Level-X linear filtering, and more—but at a more accessible price.
Features
- Patented Ground-Noise Dissipation System: Yields lower distortion and greater resolution from audio, video, and digital components with grounded AC cords/circuits
- Transient Power Correction: Provides power amplifiers a current reservoir of over 55 amps peak (up to 25mS), even when plugged into 15-amp (RMS) outlets
- Level-X Linear Noise-Dissipation Technology: AC differential-mode filtering with linear response, optimised for varying line and load impedance, assures superior resolution for audio, video, and digital signals
- AQ-Formed AC RF Filtering Capacitors: Vastly improve linearity and minimize distortions, while dissipating AC line and radio-coupled noise
- Direction-Controlled Ultra-Low-Resistance Solid Wiring: Optimized for the highest efficiency noise-dissipation of harmful distortion-causing radio frequencies
- 7Low-Z (Low-Impedance) AC Power Outlets: 2 High-Current Low-Z Power; 5 Ultra-Linear Filtered Power (source components) Outlets feature heavy direct-silver plating over beryllium copper. This assures the most efficient dissipation of induced radio-frequency noise possible.
- Over-Voltage Shutdown with Automatic Reset: Enacts shutdown at approximately 17% above optimal AC input levels, until the incoming AC voltage returns to a safe range
- Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection: Withstands multiple AC surges and spikes up to 6000V/3000A
- Transverse-Mode Noise Dissipation: well in excess of 24dB from 6kHz to 1GHz, linearized for dynamic (rising) line impedance with frequency (source) and 10-to-50-ohm load, system current dependant
So, what distinguishes Niagara 3000 from Niagaras 7000 and 5000?
With rack-friendly dimensions (444.5mm W x 87.6mm H x 386.1mm - 11.29kg) and 2-RU rack ears (included), the smaller Niagara 3000 is a very high-performance, cost-effective option for two-channel and custom-install applications. It forgoes the 7000’s patented dielectric-biased symmetrical power isolation transformers; and, rather than the 80 amps peak current reserve available in the 5000 and 7000, the 3000 provides power amplifiers a current reservoir of over 55 amps peak (up to 25mS).
Finally, with a current capacity of 15 amps (RMS), the Niagara 3000 features two High-Current outlets and five Level-X linear filtered source AC outlets, whereas the larger Niagaras 5000 and 7000 offer four High-Current outlets and eight Level-X ultra-linear filtered outlets.
Specification
- Input Current Maximum Capacity: 15 amps RMS (total)
- 7 AC Ground-Noise Dissipated Outlets in 3 Isolated Groups:
- 2 High-Current/Transient Power Correction outlets for on-demand current to variable-current equipment (amplifiers)
- 3 Level-X Linear Filtered AC outlets (outlets 3 through 5)
- 2 Level-X Linear Filtered AC outlets (outlets 6 and 7)
- Dimensions: 444.5mm (W) x 87.6mm (H) x 386.1mm (D) and 2-RU rack ears (included)

About AudioQuest
AudioQuest has been the largest cable supplier to the high-end specialist market for many years. AudioQuest is sold in several hundred outlets in the US and in over sixty countries. Bill Lowe (Founder) is especially pleased that this success has been possible despite his insistence that the foundation of the company, and the foundation of AudioQuest marketing, must be the performance of the product. In the audio world, many professionals have learned that it is not always convenient to listen to the products they sell … they might learn something they don’t want to know! Bill has always understood the challenge of basing the existence of AudioQuest on the performance of the product. However, to Bill, this is the only reasonable way to do business and the only acceptable way to combine his passion for music (and all things high performance), with his need to make a living.
About AudioQuest
Californian cable maker covering analogue, digital, speaker and power cables, with patented conductor and dielectric designs.
AudioQuest is based in Irvine, California, and makes cables for nearly every connection in a system: analogue interconnects, USB, HDMI and Ethernet, speaker cables and AC power cables. Its designs come back to four ideas: solid conductors, directionality, noise dissipation and the quality of the metal.

Conductor and metal choices come first
Solid conductors and metal quality are two of the ideas AudioQuest returns to across its range. HyperLitz, a conductor construction patented in 1988, is another. Directionality, the principle that a cable is built to carry signal in one direction, is the fourth.
Noise is treated as a separate design problem
AudioQuest lists its noise-dissipation technologies as ZERO-Tech, RF/ND-Tech and the Dielectric-Bias System, which was patented in 2004. They are applied alongside the conductor work rather than in place of it, and which ones a cable carries depends on the model and its price.
One brand across the whole system
AudioQuest also makes AC power cables, Niagara and PowerQuest power conditioners and DragonFly DACs alongside its analogue, digital and speaker cables. If you are building or upgrading a system, that means every cable in the chain, and the power feeding it, can come from one design approach.
Why we stock AudioQuest
We took AudioQuest on for HDMI. When the 1.4 spec arrived in 2009 they were the first supplier who could actually get the cables to us, at a point when almost nobody could. The power cables turned out to be just as good, and they are now a bigger part of what we sell than the HDMI ever was.
