Connected Fidelity CF Slow-Blow Fuse

Enhance the performance of your hi-fi or home cinema setup with CF FUSES from connected-fidelity. These audio-focused mains power fuses are engineered to minimise energy propagation loss, ensuring cleaner power delivery to your components. Unlike standard fuses, CF FUSES are treated with a deep cryogenic process to improve conductivity at a molecular level. This is followed by high-voltage conditioning, super-cleaning of the caps, mechanical isolation with a resonance damping sleeve, and a final application of a cleaning agent for better contact. Each fuse is supplied with a cleaning cloth to remove surface contaminants, helping you get the best connection possible.

Here is what Connected FIdelity say about the CF Slow-Blow Fuse

Our fuses come in UK plug sizes IEC-type 20mm slow-blow variants (0.5A to 16A) sold individually ideal for upgrading both power plugs and internal fuse holders in your audio or A/V gear. With noticeable improvements in audio clarity and dynamics, especially in source equipment and amplifiers, CF FUSES offer real performance gains at a price point that makes sense.

Excellent Value

There has been little precise science involved, we worked with our ears to achieve excellent results that do not ‘break the bank’. We supply UK Plug fuses in 3’s because you should use them in every audio or A/V component and a ‘multi-pack’ is best value for you. 20 x 5mm slow blow fuses are sold individually.

Noticeable performance gain

Indeed, our audiophile quality fuses are very low-cost compared to many of the other audio quality brands available and we find they offer improved performance, particularly powering source components like phono-stages, CD players and streamers; along with pre-amplifiers, power amplifiers and AV equipment. The unsolicited feedback we have received from satisfied customers bears this out.

About Connected Fidelity

connected-fidelity™ products all do one thing. They make the experience of listening to recorded or streamed music in the home more enjoyable by bringing you closer to the actual music. It might seem like a simple and obvious statement, but the reality is not easy to achieve.

About Connected Fidelity

British maker of analogue accessories, cables, isolation products and power conditioning for hi-fi.

Connected Fidelity is a UK brand, and its products are made in the UK. The range covers analogue accessories, cables, power conditioning and RF shielding. It includes Unity cables, Float isolation pucks, RF blockers, a power conditioner and replacement fuses, so you can treat several parts of a system from one maker.

Read more about Connected FidelityShow less

Isolation and RF products tidy up the setup

Float pucks support equipment and reduce the vibration reaching it, and RF blockers target radio-frequency interference. Both are accessories that sit around your existing system rather than replacing a component, so they suit you if you want to refine what you already own.

Power products cover cables, fuses and conditioning

The power range includes the AC-2K power conditioner, power cables and CF fuses in 5A and 13A ratings. Some power cables use what the maker calls Wirewound Technologies. Check the product page for the specification, and match any fuse to the rating your equipment needs.

A tonearm sits in the analogue range

For vinyl, Connected Fidelity lists the CF-1010 tonearm in its analogue range. Analogue accessories are one of its main categories, alongside cables and power. Mounting distance, weight and the arm's effective mass all need to suit your turntable and cartridge, so check compatibility before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Master Fuse is Synergistic Research’s most advanced design, engineered for maximum resolution, dynamics, and soundstage depth. The Purple Fuse, while more affordable, offers excellent performance and long-lasting reliability. Both elevate your system, but the Master Fuse sets the highest benchmark in the range.

Yes. Synergistic Research fuses (including the Master, Purple, Pink, Orange, and Blue) are directional. For best results, install them so electricity flows left to right when viewing the fuse label. Many listeners report subtle sonic differences when reversed, especially after the fuse has been broken in.

Yes. For example, Synergistic Research Black fuses typically require around 200 hours of break-in, with about 90% of tonal change settling after 100 hours. Patience is rewarded, as long-term listening reveals deeper improvements in tonal balance, staging, and overall clarity.

Hi-fi fuses are safe to use when they are the correct rating and type specified by the manufacturer. They function in the same protective way as standard fuses, but can use different materials, construction methods and optimisations. Some listeners report improvements in clarity, focus, and low-level detail after fitting a hi-fi fuse. These changes are typically subtle and system-dependent, making fuses more of a fine-tuning option than a primary upgrade.

We have tried and tested various different fuses from multiple 3rd party manufacturers, as well as the standard off the shelf fuses, and we believe that audiophile fuses do offer improvements while maintaining safety standards. Like any fuse, audiophile fuses will still blow above their rated amperage to protect your power connections & equipment. We understand that it seems counter-intuitive for a fuse to make improvements, however, we, along with many other audiophiles, have found that there are improvements to be found when swapping out an off the shelf fuse for an audiophile fuse. We highly recommend trialing an audiophile fuse in your system to hear the difference yourself.

Many users report improvements in clarity, dynamics, and noise floor when using high‑quality audio fuses.

They are usually fitted in Uk 3 Pin plugs, IEC inlets, or internal fuse holders within audio equipment.

Some manufacturers recommend a short running‑in period for best performance.
