Furutech FPX High Performance US Duplex Receptacle - Rhodium
The Furutech FPX Rhodium is a two-outlet NEMA wall receptacle for US-wired mains systems, rated at 15A/20A on a 125V supply. It takes US NEMA plugs, not UK ones, so it is for US electrical installations, US-specification power distributors and power boxes built to US wiring practice. Its blade receivers are non-magnetic Alpha phosphor bronze, 0.8mm thick, plated with rhodium using the newer plating technique Furutech introduced for the FPX series, which they say improves both the sound and the durability of the finish. Furutech also make the FPX in gold-plated and non-plated copper versions.
Furutech's pin insert construction gives each outlet a larger contact area and a very tight grip, and the electrodes are rounded rather than sharp-edged, so they won't scratch or mark the plating on your plug blades. The electrodes are built to the 20A pattern and also accept 15A plugs. Set-screw terminals take wire from 10 AWG to 24 AWG, with a wire connection that Furutech say has over 17% more contact area. The body is nylon and glass fibre with a white polycarbonate cover, the main metal parts go through Furutech's Alpha cryogenic and electromagnetic treatment, and every model is cUL approved. As with any mains wiring, fitting should be left to a qualified electrician.
The FPX is the simpler of the two Furutech US duplex receptacles we list. The Furutech GTX-D High End Performance US Duplex Receptacle - Rhodium uses pure copper conductors sprung by a separate stainless steel spring, a body damped with ceramic and carbon powders and a 2mm stainless steel brace plate, and it is wider at 47.2mm. The FPX on this page uses springy phosphor bronze conductors that need no separate spring, in a nylon and glass fibre body 104.2mm long and 33.5mm wide. Both take US NEMA plugs and both are rated at 20A on a 125V supply.

New phosphor bronze electrode structure
The new electrode (blade receiver) structure uses phosphor bronze, which conducts well and is springy, so firm contact pressure is held stable over the long term. The uniquely shaped new electrode has no sharp edges and is rounded instead, which stops the blades of the inserted power plug being scored by abrasion, while increasing the contact area and keeping the contact reliable, for loss-free power delivery.
- Wire connection: the contact area is increased by more than 17%. The wire connection screws use Furutech's own structure, with high holding force and a large contact area.
- A new 20A electrode structure that increases the contact area and doesn't damage AC plugs (15A plugs can also be used).

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. It also uses a material called GC-303 to absorb electromagnetic interference. These are Furutech's own descriptions of what the materials are designed to do.

If we need to change your shipping method, we will choose the least expensive shipping method for your order.
Worldwide - Excluding UK & Europe
Deliveries outside of the UK are not subject to 20% VAT and so the 20% tax on items is automatically deducted when you log-in, register or proceed to place an order.
If applicable, the customer will be liable for the taxes at the local tax rate, duty on the import and the brokerage service fee. This may need to be paid in advance to your local Customs & Excise office or the delivery company before your order can be delivered.
We offer the following shipping services:
- Royal Mail First Class International Airmail Services - Items are usually delivered within 7 to 10 working days
- Royal Mail Standard International Mail Services - Items are usually delivered within 15 working days
- DHL Express International - Items are usually delivered within 24 to 48 hours. DHL orders must be received by 3:30pm for next day service to most destinations in Europe
- Federal Express International Priority - Items are usually delivered within 48 hours. FedEx orders must be received by 3.00pm in order to ship items the same day, subject to stock availability
- Where the actual weight of the package significantly exceeds the shipping cost charged on orders, we may write to you for an additional shipping charge. For larger orders, items may be shipped in multiple packets at our discretion
We reserve the right to change your shipping method without notification if you select a method that we cannot use for your shipment (for instance, we cannot ship via postal services for items over 2 Kg to International destinations). If we need to change your shipping method, we will choose the least expensive shipping method for your order.
