Furutech FT-909 High End Performance PCB RCA Socket - Rhodium - Pair
The Furutech FT-909 Rhodium is an RCA socket made to solder directly onto a printed circuit board, for amplifier, DAC and phono stage builds where the inputs and outputs sit on the main board rather than being wired to the back panel. It is sold as a pair with red and white colour rings to mark the two channels. The centre contact is Furutech's α (Alpha) pure copper with rhodium plating, chosen to keep impedance low where your interconnect meets the circuit.
The housing is Liquid Crystal Polymer, a resin that copes with high temperatures, which suits a part that is soldered in place. Furutech also build a damping compound into the chassis nut, so the socket is held without resonating where it passes through the panel. The connections are soldered, and each socket measures approximately 20.9 x 17.35 x 36.5mm overall.
If your sockets mount through the back panel and are wired to the board, the FT-903 is the panel-mount version, with the same pure copper conductor and LCP housing. The FT-909 is also made as the FT-909 Gold, identical apart from the contact plating. Fitting needs soldering skills, so if you are not confident with an iron, ask a qualified technician.

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. It also uses a material called GC-303 to absorb electromagnetic interference. These are Furutech's own descriptions of what the materials are designed to do.
