Furutech Nano Liquid Contact Enhancer
Furutech's Nano Liquid is a contact enhancer designed to protect new connectors and enhance older ones. Because no surface is perfectly smooth, the Nano Liquid is created to fill in the microscopic bumps and divots present in any connector which, in turn, means a superior connection between the plug and binding post. The inclusion of squalene oil not only removes oxides, but also creates a protective film on the surface of the metal to prevent future oxidisation, meaning that this nano liquid is the perfect treatment for any connection.

Revives old connections and improves new connections. Incredible Nano Liquid’s molecules are so tiny they “fill up” any air bubble holes left during the plating process when brushed onto connectors. A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. Furutech also recommends their Nano liquid in this situation to ensure a consistent connection, so I used it inside and outside the ferrules. The original bananas were soldered nickel and the resultant sound improvement of the reterminated cable was palpable, with improved soundstage and clarity.
To be fair I cannot categorically attribute this to either the Nano liquid or the quality of the Furutech plugs but I am certainly happy with the improvement and happy to follow Furutech’s recommendations, since I have long experience and respect for their products which are consistently excellent.
It’s expensive, but only a minuscule amount is required for a connection, so I expect it to last. I will slowly work through my other connections, including mains plug internals and fuse clips, to check.
Twenty-four hours later, a different result, pristine sound and resolution similar to a fuse upgrade. It was so good that I tried it on the BNC cable connector at the Uniticore end. The same thing it softened the sound and reduction in the bass. Maybe a mistake. Let's wait and see. Forty-eight hours later, everything is back with much-improved impact, deep bass and more 3D sound. So good that I did the BNC connector going into the Chord Qutest. Forty-eight hours later, again, an incremental improvement.
Next, I did the mains power cable for the Plixir power supply for the Chord Qutest, plug fuse and internal connections in the IEC and mains plugs. The Bass went missing to start with. Next day not much changed. Forty-eight hours later, it all came back with a bang. Amazing. Sound is now very analogue and real, with much-improved depth and front-to-back differentiation.
And I have not yet done the 20 other mechanical and electrical connections in my system. This is probably one of the best upgrades, maybe even more than a fuse upgrade. Outstanding product. I haven’t come across a Furutech product that doesn’t do what it says it does. Apply very, very little and check out the video.
