Furutech NCF Booster-Brace Power Connector Damping Support
The Furutech Monza LP Stabilizer is a record weight, and its job is to couple a record properly to the platter so that the vinyl and the platter behave as one mass rather than two surfaces resting against each other. A record that is not properly coupled retains its own resonant behaviour, and energy from the stylus tracing the groove reflects back into the vinyl instead of being drained away. The consequences are the familiar ones: smeared transients, a less stable image, and bass that lacks definition.
The construction is unusually elaborate for a component that simply sits on a spindle. The base and top modules are precision-machined from non-magnetic stainless steel, non-magnetic being essential this close to a cartridge, where a magnetic mass would interfere with the generator itself. Those modules are girdled by a layer of damping carbon fibre, a material Furutech use throughout their range for its ability to break up resonance rather than sustain it.
The underside is where the real work happens. It carries 16 concentric cushioning grooves formed from a piezoelectric damping material, so the surface actually in contact with the record is neither hard metal nor soft rubber but a structured damping layer. Furutech's piezo material combines nano-sized polycrystalline ferroelectric ceramic particles with powdered carbon, in a construction they describe as actively rather than passively damped: mechanical pressure on the ceramic particles generates a small electrical charge, which the carbon then dissipates as heat. Nylon and fibreglass are incorporated as well, forming a material Furutech describe as both mechanically and electrically damped.
At 350g plus or minus 5g, it is a moderate weight rather than an extreme one, which matters more than it might appear. Very heavy stabilisers can overload a suspended subchassis or add drag to a modest bearing, and 350g is enough to couple the record firmly while staying within the tolerance of most decks. It belongs to Furutech's Pure Transmission Piezo Ceramic Carbon series, alongside the award-winning FI-50 connectors.
What Furutech say about the Monza LP Stabilizer
La Grande Épreuve
Grand Prix racing's single focus: Testing the absolute limits of technology and performance for that final 10th of a second that makes the difference between victory and defeat. Furutech builds each and every cable in their line the same way; optimized engineering solutions applied to advanced materials and processes, backed by utterly meticulous build quality.
The beautifully finished precision machined nonmagnetic stainless steel base and top modules are girdled by a layer of damping carbon fiber. The bottom surface is covered with 16 concentric cushioning grooves made of an extremely effective Piezo Electric damping material.
The Piezo Effect and Your Valued LPs
Furutech's Pure Transmission Piezo Ceramic Carbon series products - like the Innovations award-winning FI-50 connector series - feature a remarkable "active system" construction. We create a unique material with two "active" materials: Nano-sized ceramic particles and powdered carbon. Only nano-sized ceramic particles effectively couples with carbon powder for the piezo effect to occur.
Nylon and fiberglass are incorporated into the construction as well, and the whole forms an extremely effective mechanically and electrically damped material. That's not a misprint; it's electrically damped as well.
Piezoelectric effects are the key. Furutech employs these nano-sized polycrystalline ferroelectric ceramic particles exhibiting electro-generative properties (mechanical pressure creates an electrical charge).

About Furutech
Furutech, founded in 1988, designs and manufactures an extraordinary range of A/V cables made with extremely high purity OCC single-crystal oxygen-free copper. Furutech have several complete lines of analog and digital, power and coaxial cables available in terminated and bulk quantities. Furutech make a wide range of highest quality OEM A/V connectors and other signal transfer parts including power, speaker, IEC and specialized Hyper Audio Quality outlet receptacles. All metal components are treated with Furutech’s proprietary 2-Stage Alpha Cryogenic and Ring Demagnetization Process during manufacture that ensures the lowest achievable levels of distortion and noise.
Furutech offers a full line of elegantly engineered and designed power distribution and filter components made with an attention to detail found nowhere elsewhere. Furutech knows each and every part of the chain, no matter how small, is as important as the next, so they lavish maximum attention on all aspects of AC power transfer. As with cables, the separate parts go through the complete Alpha Process, and also benefit from the effects of GC-303, an applied material that absorbs EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). Furutech's Reference Line of cables and interconnects also include this anti-EMI technology.
Furutech's multistep and highly specialized techniques result in extremely low-noise, fast and undistorted signal transfer that begins with the incoming AC mains power, an important factor overlooked by many.
Furutech’s total awareness of the smallest details involved in optimizing AC power delivery allows their Power Distribution and Filtering components to deliver a greater sense of power, dynamics, and resolution, with cleaner, blacker backgrounds and a larger, more stable soundstage, vivid tonal colors and deeper extension at both ends of the frequency range. Delicacy, refinement and nuance shine through, along with micro- and macro-dynamics that leave you breathlessly engaged. Video displays of all types exhibit greater, sharper resolution with less ghosting, color shift, “snow”, or vertical and horizontal lines.
At Furutech, everyone there is passionately devoted to reaching the highest watermark in reference-grade A/V cables, OEM parts and accessories for home and car audio where Furutech maintain a very strong presence. Furutech's mission is building the absolutely best products imaginable whatever the effort involved, and offering them at a price/performance ratio that deeply satisfies every purchaser. Furutech’s Pure Transmission Design Concept improves every element of signal transmission, from the AC to the speaker.
About Furutech

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. It also uses a material called GC-303 to absorb electromagnetic interference. These are Furutech's own descriptions of what the materials are designed to do.
Why we stock Furutech
We do not just sell Furutech, we build with them. Their plugs and connectors go onto the custom cables we make in our own workshop, including cables for other brands in our range. When you fit a component by hand several times a week, you find out quickly whether it is well made.
