Furutech PowerFlux-NCF High End UK Mains Power Cable - 1.8m
Please note: this product is available with UK mains plug (FI-1363 NCF(R)) only. The images are for illustration purposes only.
The Furutech PowerFlux NCF is a serious high-end mains cable supplied in a UK-specific configuration, terminated with Furutech's own FI-1363 NCF UK plug at one end and an FI-50 NCF IEC connector at the other. Both connectors share the same construction approach: multilayer nonmagnetic stainless steel and silver-plated carbon fibre housings incorporating NCF composite material, which combines a crystalline element that generates negative ions to eliminate static with nano ceramic particles and carbon powder for piezoelectric mechanical damping. Alpha pure copper conductors run through both connectors, treated through Furutech's Alpha cryogenic and demagnetisation process before assembly.
The cable itself is built around 68-strand Alpha OCC conductors at 0.127mm per strand, insulated with special-grade polyethylene and sheathed in a carbon powder-infused flexible PVC inner layer that adds damping along the full cable run. An Alpha conductor wire braid shield protects against radiated noise, and silver-plated carbon fibre GC-303 EMI absorbing modules surround the cable externally, targeting electromagnetic interference that would otherwise bypass conventional shielding. A neo-damper vibration control material is incorporated into the cable build, and a carefully engineered metal cable clamp at each connector reduces both mechanical and electrically induced distortion at the termination points. The patented Earth/Ground Jumper System addresses a subtle but measurable problem: the magnetic fields generated by current flowing through the connector housing screws, which Furutech's engineers found interfere with the larger field around the conductor. By connecting those screws directly to the ground terminal, the system eliminates the interference entirely. For UK-based listeners looking to upgrade the mains feed to a DAC, amplifier, or power distributor, the PowerFlux NCF is a thoroughly engineered choice with no compromise made at either end of the cable.
What Furutech say about the PowerFlux-NCF
Furutech’s Pure Transmission FI-50 NCF IEC and FI-363 NCF UK Piezo Ceramic series connectors' body and housing features several breakthrough construction techniques.
A multilayer nonmagnetic stainless steel and silver-plated carbon fiber shell incorporates a special damping and insulating acetal copolymer. Furutech settled on stainless and silver-plated carbon fiber for the outer housing after extensive listening sessions with Japanese industry figures and audiophiles.
The body of the connectors incorporates an “active” damping material: Nano Crystal² Formula - Nano Crystalline, Piezo Ceramic and Carbon Powder
Nano Crystal² Formula --- NCF Powder is a special crystalline material that has two “active” properties. First, it generates negative ions that eliminate static and secondly, it converts thermal energy into far-infrared, which makes it the ultimate electrical and mechanical damping material.
Nano Crystal² Formula eliminates static, “interconverts” thermal, mechanical and electrical energy and damps vibrations—all for the finest Furutech Pure Transmission signal imaginable.
Floating Magnetic Field Effects - The Furutech Earth/Ground Jumper System
How far will Furutech’s engineers go in their attempts to reach Pure Transmission reference quality? Their concentrated examination of each and every element of signal transfer has resulted in another breakthrough technology, the Furutech Earth/Ground Jumper System. It eliminates EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) induced in metal parts like connector housing screws.
Current flowing through the power connector creates a magnetic field, just as an insulated conductor creates both electromagnetic and electrostatic fields. Furutech engineers found this magnetic field induces current flow (and a small magnetic field) in the screws holding the connector together! These magnetic fields interfere with the larger magnetic field around the conductor and connector.
Furutech’s total attention to detail and elegant engineering neatly solves the problem. The Earth/Ground Jumper System connects the securing screws to a ground terminal within the plug completely eliminating the field disturbances they cause. The stray fields are grounded by a series of interlocking parts within the connector that attach to the ground conductor. The Jumper System is available in Furutech NEMA Power and IEC Connectors.
The Earth/Ground Jumper System Carries US Patent No. 6,669,491 / European Patent No. EP1445837

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. It also uses a material called GC-303 to absorb electromagnetic interference. These are Furutech's own descriptions of what the materials are designed to do.
Why we stock Furutech
We do not just sell Furutech, we build with them. Their plugs and connectors go onto the custom cables we make in our own workshop, including cables for other brands in our range. When you fit a component by hand several times a week, you find out quickly whether it is well made.
New cables (even high-quality ones) benefit from a period of signal conditioning before reaching their optimum performance. The dielectric (insulation) around the conductors needs time to stabilise under the electromagnetic field created by signal flow. Rather than leaving this to you, we run cables on our Nordost Vidar burn-in machine before dispatch, up to the equivalent of 200 hours of use, in a fraction of the time. Your cable arrives performance-ready from the first listen.

Frequently Asked Questions
Free Cable Burn-In Service Option
We are pleased to offer FREE cable burn-in worth £50.00 on this cable for up to 96 hours, using our specialist cable burner.
The cable burn-in machine optimises the performance of the cables from day one. This means cables should be near optimum performance mode when you receive them, so you'll be able to make a performance assessment quickly rather than waiting 70 hours+ of usage. The results of conditioning cables are:
- improved sound staging
- increased detail
- overall more musical presentation.
Please select the 96 hour ‘burn-in option’ from the drop-down menu on the product page as this will fully optimise the cables.
Although it is not yet fully understood scientifically, the phenomenon of “cable break-in” has been experienced by many audiophiles. Interconnects, speaker cables and power cables seem to go through a conditioning period when used in an audio/video system and will sound better after many hours of in-system use.
The sonic differences between wiring that is broken-in and wiring that is not, are very audible in high-quality audio systems. The break-in process is believed to be due primarily to current flowing through the conductors of wiring components.
Dielectric stress caused by a voltage difference between the conductors is also believed to be of some benefit. The fact that it takes many hours of in-system use for wiring components to break in is primarily due to the low-level nature of audio/video signals from normal program material.
The cable conditioning machine was designed to produce signal levels far in excess of those seen in normal audio/video system use. Internally, the device contains a sweeping square wave oscillator that drives a very high-efficiency “H” bridge MOSFET switching circuit.
The signal levels produced by the cable conditioning machine are many times greater than that obtained under the most ideal of audio system conditions. The “stress” on the dielectric of the cable is also much higher than in normal use due to the higher output voltage. It should be readily apparent why results with the cable conditioning machine are often quite audible after as little as 24 hours of use.
