Tweeter
For this loudspeaker, we developed a 28 mm ultra-linear tweeter with an extra-thin soft silk dome powered by a neodymium magnet and featuring an aluminium-dampening elliptical rear chamber. This tweeter provides low-frequency resonance, minimal harmonic distortion and exceptional musicality making it a real high-quality acoustic transducer.
Midrange
The upper cabinet houses two 150mm ultra-linear drivers that feature high mass phase plugs and Nextel-treated paper cones to reach high rigidity and fast natural audio response.
Adaptive rubber surrounds provide an ideal match to the cone over the total frequency range.
The extra large magnet system with a long and lightweight CCAW voice coil allows perfect coil excursion and low distortion due to its excellent transient response.
Solid copper rings are mounted above and below the T-shaped pole piece to reduce non-linear and modulation distortions and to increase the overload margin.
The driver is completed by an extremely stiff and stable skeleton in aluminium/magnesium to avoid airflow noises and to increase rigidity and lightness.
Woofers
Two 220mm ultra-linear slightly horn-loaded, lightweight drivers with a 18gm mass featuring Nextel-treated paper aid in producing a fast natural audio response in lower frequencies
Bass drivers feature a large magnet design with a bumped back-plate: the large and dampened platform at the back improves stiffness while the extra-long and lightweight CCAW voice coil, allows extreme coil excursion, low distortion and excellent transient response
Giant copper rings mounted above and below the T-shaped pole piece reduce distortion for better overload margin
A high mass phase plug reduces compression due to temperature variations in the voice coil
Long-term power handling is increased to eliminate resonances from the cavity inside the voice coil former.

The sophisticated triple crossover network, with a multi-slope design, integrates perfectly with the driver array. Anti-resonant, thick glass-fibre boards reward the listener with a natural close-field audio experience. Gold Note is an Italian company near Florence, with a factory in Montespertoli, Tuscany. It makes turntables, cartridges, phono stages, streaming DACs, amplifiers, headphone amplifiers, power supplies, CD players and loudspeakers. Turntables and cartridges from one maker
The turntables include the Mediterraneo, Giglio, Pianosa and Valore, and the cartridges include the Tuscany, Machiavelli, Donatello and Vasari. The B-5 tonearm design dates from 1992 and has changed little since. Both lists come from one maker, so a deck and a cartridge can be chosen together.
Electronics with a plain, clean layout
Gold Note builds integrated amplifiers such as the IS-10 and IS-1000, the DS-10 EVO streamer, power amplifiers and phono stages. Its stated approach is clean circuitry, solid power supplies and a minimal look, and its factory makes its own cases and circuit boards.
Phono stages for different cartridges
The PH-5.2 phono stage is an update of the PH-5, with a black anodised aluminium chassis, an upgraded power supply and a revised display layout. Phono stages sit alongside the turntables and cartridges, so a complete vinyl front end can come from one brand.

In June 2024 two of us visited Gold Note's factory in Tuscany with their UK distributor, met the founder, and spent time in the R&D labs. Seeing where the components are chosen and why changed how we thought about the brand. We came back and listed the entire range, which we rarely do.

- Applies only to orders with £99 or more of items (including VAT at the UK rate), at Future Shop
- Free Delivery on orders over £99 utilises Royal Mail First Class postal service for items weighing under 2KG. For items weighing over 2KG, we use DPD or DHL next working day services which deliver from 9.00am to 6pm within mainland UK (excludes Royal Mail Special Delivery Services and timed next day delivery services by DPD or DHL).
- Applies only to deliveries to addresses within mainland UK and Northern Ireland addresses. Applies only to orders that are to be delivered to a single Mainland UK delivery address.
- You will not be eligible for free delivery on your order if any items are cancelled or returned for a refund, bringing the total order amount below £99. Where items are returned, the refund due will be the cost of the item less any postage costs.
- We reserve the right to change or discontinue 'Free delivery on orders over £99 promotion at any time.

Special Delivery UK - Guaranteed Next Working Day
We have 99.9% of the UK covered With Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery. We guarantee delivery to most UK addresses by 1pm the next working day. This includes Northern Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey. Some places take longer to deliver to but we still guarantee delivery within three working days by 5.30 PM.
Please note, Royal Mail Special Delivery for next working day may not be possible where non-standard cable lengths are ordered. If this is the case, the item will be shipped via The Royal Mail Special Delivery service as soon as the cable is custom made.
For orders weighing over 2KG, we reserve the right to ship items using Next Day Pre-Noon Courier Services where Royal Mail Special Delivery option has been selected.
Channel Islands & Northern Ireland
We accept orders from all Channel Islands including Alderney, Jersey, Guernsey and Sark. Unless you select a premium service, Items weighing under 2KG are delivered using our standard UK delivery option above. For items weighing over 2KG, a surcharge may be applied for all deliveries to the Channel Islands as well as Northern Ireland.
European Countries
Deliveries to EU member states are not subject to 20% VAT after December 31st 2020 and therefore the 20% VAT on items is automatically deducted when you log-in, register or proceed to place an order.
The customer will be liable for the VAT at the local VAT rate, duty on the import and the brokerage service fee if applicable. This may need to be paid in advance to your local Customs & Excise office or the delivery company before your order can be delivered.
We offer the following shipping services:
- Royal Mail First Class International Airmail Services - Items are usually delivered within 3 to 5 working days
- Royal Mail Standard International Mail Services - Items are usually delivered within 7-10 working days
- DHL Express International - Items are usually delivered within 24 to 48 hours. DHL orders must be received by 3:30pm for next day service to most destinations in Europe
- Federal Express International Priority - Items are usually delivered within 24 to 48 hours. FedEx orders must be received by 3.00pm for next day service to most destinations in Europe
- Federal Express International Economy - Item are usually delivered within 48 to 72 hours
We reserve the right to change your shipping method without notification if you select a method that we cannot use for your shipment (for instance, we cannot ship via postal services for items over 2 Kg to International destinations). If we need to change your shipping method, we will choose the least expensive shipping method for your order.
