In collaboration with a renowned audio cable maker, Ortofon has developed these lead wires to meet the demands of the most discerning professionals. After rigorous testing and countless listening sessions, the LW-6N cables were selected as the best performer among various configurations of test cables made with the best materials available. This speaks volumes about the level of quality and performance that these lead wires offer.
The LW-800S are the most sophisticated lead wires composed of pure silver and silver-coated wire. The nature of silver wire, silver-coated wire transmits the very clear high tone signals, it brings the brilliant tonality. The end of the wire is fastened by rhodium-plated terminal.
One of the key features of these LW-6N is their sophisticated configuration, utilising different diameters of wire strands. The inside strand is right winding, and the outside strand is left winding, creating a tight winding against each other. This design allows for a clear transmission of music signals, resulting in a clear and crisp tonality. Such attention to detail and precision is what sets the LW-6N apart from other headshell lead wires on the market.
Mounting instructions
All Ortofon cartridges have a color coding of the terminals, indicating red and green for right channel, respectively hot and ground terminal. White and blue for left channel, respectively hot and ground terminal. Green terminal will always be used for grounding the cartridge housings or motor-system whenever connected inside the cartridge.
We recommend to connect lead wires to the cartridge and headshell before mounting the cartridge on the headshell. Please remember correct orientation of the leads. The Ortofon SH-4 headshell and Ortofon cartridges' terminal PINs diameter is 1.2 mm, while the Ortofon headshells' PINs diameter is normally only 1.0 mm. Using LW 6N with the SH-4 headshell requies the LW 6N shell side clamp to be widened a little bit to fit on the SH-4 PINs. If shifted around, it may cause over-tightening of the assembly. Being aware about this detail, you will avoid the risk of having the cartridge's terminal PINs fall out.

We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service.
