QED Performance Subwoofer
The QED Performance Subwoofer connects the subwoofer output of a hi-fi amplifier or AV receiver to an active subwoofer. That job has its own demands. A subwoofer is rarely placed next to the amplifier and often sits across the room, so the cable may run for several metres past mains leads, network cables and other equipment. The range starts at 3.0m and goes up to 6.0m and 10.0m for exactly that reason.
It shares its core design with QED's Performance Audio interconnect. Solid Complementary Conductor Technology uses two electrically isolated solid-core conductors of 99.999% oxygen-free copper in different diameters, a construction QED have shown reduces small timing errors in the signal. In this application QED's listening tests found a more accurate rendition and an exceptionally tight low-frequency response, keeping the rhythm and impact of the music rather than letting the bass drag or bloat. A foamed polyethylene dielectric keeps capacitance low, which helps on longer runs into the high input impedance of a subwoofer amplifier.
The screening is what makes the long lengths work. A dual electrostatic screen keeps external electrical noise out of the signal path, and QED's Ferrite Insulation Technology adds an overall zinc-manganese ferrite jacket that absorbs digital and RF interference. A long unbalanced cable picks up more noise than a short one, and a subwoofer amplifier raises its own background noise level along with the signal, so a well-shielded cable is worth having here. An ultra-flexible TPE outer jacket guards against microphonic handling noise and makes the cable easy to route around a room, and gold-plated QED phono plugs give a low-noise, high-conductivity connection that won't tarnish.

Listening tests have shown that this unique construction allows the analogue cable to deliver a more accurate musical rendition, retaining the rhythm and excitement of the original piece to produce an exceptionally tight low frequency delivery when used to connect a hi-fi amplifier to an active sub-woofer. In addition, to help prevent microphonic handling noise, the analogue signal is protected by an ultra-flexible TPE outer jacket. We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.
Please note, special orders for non-standard cable lengths may be subject to longer deliver time-scales. This may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Some places take longer to deliver to but we still guarantee delivery within three working days by 5.30 PM.

We accept orders from all Channel Islands including Alderney, Jersey, Guernsey and Sark.
