QED SCREWLOC ABS 4MM Banana Plug - 4 Pack
QED's SCREWLOC Banana Plugs are 24k Gold Plated, which means they do not oxidise like copper plugs. The Forte blade locking mechanism ensures a snug fit, maximising the contact area and securing a uniform connection.
What QED say
The SCREWLOC forte 4mm Banana Plug is the ideal finishing connection to ensure you get the best from your speaker cable. Designed for use where speed and convenience are the paramount concern, these connectors make the most of the Screwloc style termination providing a twin conductor clamp to suit cable diameters up to 3.25mm.
The new Forte plugs are 24k Gold Plated which has a resistivity almost as low as copper but more importantly does not oxidise in air. The new Forte plug section is designed to maximise contact area throughout the wide tolerance range encountered in 4mm amplifier and speaker sockets. Some can be quite tight whereas others may be loose, so the spring loaded Forte blade is designed to fit into smaller and larger sockets with equal insertion force. This means that the contact area is maximised and the connection remains uniformly tight.
The plugs themselves are made of brass which has roughly twice the resistivity of copper. For this reason the 4mm banana plug was devised so that its cross-sectional area would be at least double that of the cable to which it was connected effectively cancelling out the extra resistance of the plug material. QED then plates the connector with high purity gold which has a resistivity almost as low as copper but more importantly does not oxidise in air.
Specification :
- Sold in 2 pairs, 2 Black & 2 Red
- Twin SCREWLOC termination provides secure cable connection
- 24ct gold plated, sprung 4mm plugs for optimum signal transfer
- Colour coded and insulated barrels ensure correct phasing and prevent amplifier damage
- Lifetime UK Warranty

For digital and video connections, QED makes HDMI cables, USB cables in A-B and A-Micro B formats, and optical, coaxial and Ethernet cables. That covers most of the digital connections in a modern system, from a streamer to a TV.

Customers highlight their robust construction, straightforward assembly even for non-technical users, and compatibility with various cable types and thicknesses. Vendor service—particularly from Future Shop—is frequently commended for fast delivery, helpful support, and competitive pricing. One customer noted the product is now manufactured in Taiwan rather than the UK, expressing disappointment about this shift despite maintaining the original price point. No other recurring negative themes were identified across the reviews.
My fat speaker cables fitted OK, screwing the plug screws tight took a couple of goes . Very pleased I got these.
These new connectors are very good, easy to assemble, and have fantastic sound. These took my system to another level and a solid connection.
Installation was incredibly straightforward, making it easy to set up even for those who aren’t tech-savvy.
Once installed, I immediately noticed a significant performance improvement. Whether it was the enhanced clarity, richer sound, or smoother functionality, the difference was clear. This product truly delivers on its promises, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable upgrade.
Price satisfactory for good quality
