Van Den Hul The D-352 Hybrid Speaker Cable - Custom Length
This twin lead brown metallic coloured speaker cable is designed to provide a very high transfer quality at a moderate price. Each lead is made of 296 x 0.15 mm. Matched Crystal (MC) high purity OFC strands with a dense and very pure silver coating. Covering the two conductors an extra layer saturated with Linear Structured Carbon ® is applied to improve the sonic performance and to transform the radiated magnetic field into an audio signal again. The cable jacket is made of our HULLIFLEX ® 3, a very flexible and mechanically superb insulation material. The resistance per lead is: 0.34 Ohm/100 meter. Total metal cross-section area for each conductor is 5.23 mm², equalling AWG 10. The capacitance between the 2 leads is: 32.5 pF/meter. The plus and minus leads are different in jacket-shape with printing in the flat middle section. Both properties are easy polarity-finders. Type printing at 25 cm. (10") distance makes cutting of specified lengths very easy. Our 4.0 mm. Ø cable entrance diameter Bus type Universal Speaker Connectors and our DIY Screw-On Speaker Connectors are excellently suited for the D - 352 HYBRID.

Carbon as a conductor material
Linear Structured Carbon, or LSC, is Van den Hul's patented conductor technology, and it has its own cable line. It sits apart from copper and silver designs, which gives the carbon cables a different construction from most of the cables you may be comparing them with.
Fusion, hybrid and multi-metal conductors
The Fusion series uses Fusion Technology conductor material, and the Hybrid collection covers cables that combine materials. 3T, or True Transmission Technology, is a multi-metal conductor design. Van den Hul also lists Tunnel Technology among its cable technologies. Together these give you several constructions to choose from within the catalogue, not a single conductor type.
Cartridges as well as cables

Van den Hul have used Linear Structured Carbon as a conductor since long before carbon became fashionable, which gives their cables a character you will not find in copper or silver designs. They were already well established in Europe when we took them on in 2007, and they remain one of the genuinely different voices we carry.
New cables (even high-quality ones) benefit from a period of signal conditioning before reaching their optimum performance. The dielectric (insulation) around the conductors needs time to stabilise under the electromagnetic field created by signal flow. Rather than leaving this to you, we run cables on our Nordost Vidar burn-in machine before dispatch, up to the equivalent of 200 hours of use, in a fraction of the time. Your cable arrives performance-ready from the first listen.

Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.

- Cable Compatibility: We regret to inform you that we cannot burn-in cables with stripped bare ends or BFA plugs. In order for cables to undergo the burn-in process, they should be terminated or have connectors.
- Timing: Cables will be burnt in for the selected period after processing your order. For custom-length cables, the burn-in process will occur after they have been terminated by the manufacturer or our engineers unless specified otherwise in the product description.
- Availability: Future Shop provides our cable burn-in service free of charge, but its availability is at our discretion. While we strive to fulfil all burn-in requests for the specified time periods, please understand that during exceptionally busy periods, we may be unable to meet the demand due to limited connections on the Nordost Vidar cable conditioning machines.
The Nordost VIDAR cable burn-in machine integrates three key functions into one operation:
- Charge Neutralisation: It eliminates charges that accumulate around the cables and their insulation, ensuring a more balanced electrical environment.

At low volumes, the Tellurium shows you everything as you can hear more from the width and fills the mids more when it’s louder. The D-352 gives less detail at lower volumes regarding the width and gives you more focus on the sounds. When you crank it loud, it feels like it’s there happening and sounds great even with an upper roll-off; it is not fatiguing at all, and you need an EQ to raise the highs and give the stereo extra width, and it sounds very, very good.
However, it cannot compare to the Tellurium’s width, they do not grip your soul like the D-352. It does something to the sound but also can emphasise some frequencies in the mid-range.
Overall, they are very good cables if you have an EQ and don’t mind some treble roll-off for a very bold sound with a not-so-extremely-low floor level. If you like live music like it’s in front of you, the 352 is your choice. Any natural instruments you may like and synths will sound amazing for you, especially with a slight EQ.
The highs have opened up still a little soft but I think this is more likely to be the Quad amplification. What I have overall is a beautiful balanced sound analogue sounding with lots of midrange detail. The stereo imaging is good, a very relaxing sound. Highly recommended BUT I advise selecting the burn-in option.
