Wireworld Silver Starlight USB Type A to Type B
The Silver Starlight® USB audio cable is intended for the most discerning listeners and advanced audio systems, where its ability to reveal the natural timbre of acoustic instruments and voices is invaluable. The Silver Starlight® employs the WireWorld's new, patent-pending DNA Helix™ conductor design, which uses six signal conductors – twice as many as other USB cables.
Wireworld USB audio cables utilize unique new designs that minimize jitter by providing sharper waveforms than the standard USB cable design. They provide the least jitter available at each price level, producing distinct improvements in tone quality, clarity, image focus, smoothness and dynamic range. All Wireworld USB cables feature proprietary DNA Helix® or Symmetricon® design geometry.
Wireworld's improved USB audio cables recently earned the TAS Golden Ear and Digital Audio Cable of the Year awards on the Platinum Starlight.
There is a fundamental difference between the transfer of computer data and digital audio signals. Computers are able to transfer digital data without loss, because the data moves in the robust form of blocks, which do not depend on specific timing between the sending and receiving devices. However, digital audio signals are continuous streams of data, which are quite fragile, since the digital processor must remain perfectly locked onto the timing of the signal to avoid data losses.
The Limitations of digital audio processors and cables create timing errors known as jitter, which remove portions of the audio signal and replace them with noise and distortion. Cables tend to round off the square waveforms of the signal, making them less clear to the processor, thus increasing jitter. This rounding effect varies greatly among cables and a truly superior digital audio cable can make great improvements in sound quality.
With the unique invention of the DNA Helix design, Wireworld has created a more efficient channel for electromagnetic energy, thereby preserving more of the delicate information that creates higher fidelity.
WireWorld USB cables feature a unique flat design that allows it to function over significantly longer runs than conventional USB cables and provides improved sound quality in media server, PC audio, and other digital music applications.
Waveform Fidelity
A perfect cable would transfer musical waveforms without changing or losing any information along the way. Achieving this level of perfection is WireWorld's goal. With the release of Series 7, they will also introduce Waveform Fidelity graphs showing how Wireworld cables outperform all others.

A conductor geometry with its own name
DNA Helix, short for Delineated Neutralizing Array, is Wireworld's conductor geometry. Wireworld says its cables are designed to minimise signal loss and preserve waveform integrity, aiming for the closest approach to a direct connection, and it uses the comparator to check each design against that target and against sonic neutrality.
Insulation and metals chosen with care
Wireworld names its materials in its own documentation. Conductors are oxygen-free copper or, where silver is used, Ohno Continuous-Cast solid silver at 99.99999 per cent purity. The insulators are DuPont Delrin, and Composilex 5 is the fifth generation of Wireworld's own insulation.
A design for each type of connection
Wireworld makes cables for HDMI, USB, Ethernet, power and audio. UNI-PATH is its approach to digital cables, FLUXFIELD is its approach to power cables, Symmetricon is its HDMI design, and the Silver-Tube plugs are covered by a US patent, so the plug on the end of the cable is part of the design too.
Why we stock Wireworld
We took Wireworld on in 2007 for their flat cable designs. The flat geometry on the HDMI and power cables was doing something different to the round cables everyone else was building, cutting crosstalk and holding signal integrity over longer runs. That was the reason we took them on and it is still the reason we sell them.
