64 Audio Nio Universal IEM Earphones
The 64 Audio Nio Universal IEM Earphones introduce a remarkable blend of technology and craftsmanship, featuring a high driver-count hybrid design that includes a 9mm dynamic driver and 8 balanced armature drivers. Encased within an ergonomic aluminium shell, the drivers and patented components deliver exceptional sound quality. Each pair of Nio earphones boasts a unique aesthetic appeal, with a striking blue abalone faceplate sourced from natural origins.
Renowned for its sound signature characterised by extended lows and a rich 3-dimensional soundstage, Nio offers smooth treble and natural warmth, ensuring hours of enjoyable listening across all music genres. The earphones provide versatility in tonality adjustment, ranging from saturated tube-like warmth to a neutral reference monitor tonality, facilitated by the variety of tips and apex modules included.
Embedded with patented technologies such as Tubeless In-Ear Audio (tia), Air Pressure Exchange (Apex), and Linear Impedance Design (LID), Nio aims to deliver a transparent and lifelike sound signature while ensuring comfort during prolonged listening sessions. The Apex venting system releases air pressure in the sealed ear canal, enhancing listener comfort and contributing to a more realistic soundstage. The LID circuit corrects non-linear electrical resistance, ensuring consistent and reliable sound across various source amplifier output impedance levels.
What 64 Audio say
Nio is our first high driver-count hybrid UIEM featuring a 9mm dynamic driver and 8 balanced armature drivers. The drivers and other patented components are housed in an ergonomic shell machined out of solid aluminium. Similar to some of our other unique faceplates, Nio is finished with a naturally sourced striking blue abalone faceplate making each pair truly unique.
With a sound signature characterised by extended lows and a rich 3-dimensional soundstage, Nio’s smooth treble and natural warmth will provide hours of enjoyable listening for all genres of music. With the included variety of tips and apex modules you can take Nio from a saturated tube-like warmth all the way to a neutral reference monitor tonality.
Featured Technology
Tubeless In-Ear Audio (tia) is a patented IEM design methodology that aims to reduce unwanted resonance and distortion for a transparent and lifelike sound signature. The tia system is comprised of three major elements: open balanced armature tia drivers, the tia single-bore design, and tia acoustic chambers. Nio features two major elements of the tia system: the tia driver and the tia single-bore design.
Air Pressure Exchange (Apex) is a patented vent that releases air pressure in a sealed ear canal all while retaining standard IEM levels of isolation; enabling musicians and music enthusiasts to listen more comfortably for longer. This venting alleviates listener fatigue and allows for a much more realistic soundstage. Apex comes in three module variations for Nio: mX, m15 and m20.
Linear Impedance Design (LID) is a patented circuit that corrects the non-linear electrical resistance of the multiple driver-sets comprising this 9 driver IEM. Varying source amplifier output impedance in devices like smartphones, body packs, DAC/amps, and DAPs typically results in varying frequency response across them, depending on the increase in resistance. Restoring proper interaction with the source and preserving the desired sound signature enables a consistent reliable sound.

About 64 Audio
Maker of custom and universal in-ear monitors, known for its tia drivers and Apex air pressure venting.
64 Audio makes in-ear monitors in two formats: universal-fit models you can use straight away, and custom models built to the shape of your ears. The company is American, and its catalogue runs from more accessible universals up to multi-driver flagships. You can choose by budget, fit preference and the way you listen.

The tia design uses an open driver layout
tia stands for Tubeless In-Ear Audio. 64 Audio says the design pairs open balanced armature drivers with a single large bore and tuned chambers, aimed at a wider soundstage and a smooth response. Not every model uses it, so check the product page for the one you are considering.
Apex vents pressure and sets isolation
Apex stands for air pressure exchange. 64 Audio says the vent relieves pressure in the ear canal to reduce listening fatigue. Replaceable isolation modules let you choose how much outside noise reaches you: the m20 module cuts 20dB, the m15 cuts 15dB and the mX cuts 10dB.
Custom and universal ranges sit side by side
The catalogue is divided into universal and custom ranges. Custom models are made from a digital scan of your ear and a 3D-printed shell, a process 64 Audio calls 3D-Fit. The company also names LID, short for linear impedance design, as a technology used across its multi-driver models.
