Atacama's newest speaker stands come in the form of a new series aptly named the Audition series.
Each of the Audition series speaker stands feature larger than usual top plates which can accommodate both large, wide shallow speakers as well as thin, deep cabinet speakers.
The Audition 400, stands 435mm off the floor to bring your speakers closer to a more natural listening position while sitting. By accurately setting up your speakers towards a centralized seated area, you can greatly improve the clarity and dynamics during your listening sessions.
Here's what Atacama say about the Audition 400 Speaker Stands
The Audition Series Speaker stands have a large 360mm by 225mm laser cut top plate and can be used with either dimension being front facing. This allows both large, wide but shallow speakers to be supported as well as the more numerous deep cabinet types.
Each pair of Audition stands are equipped with new 5mm thick laser cut carbon steel base plates, eight heavy duty BZP 8mm adjustable floor spikes featuring stainless steel detailed top caps and upgraded High Load Trapezoidal (HLT) Isolation Gel Pads for the top plates.
Floor spikes and HLT Isolation Gel pads are included with each pair of stands, with the option of adding Atabite mass loading filler, top spikes and spike shoes if required. Atacama recommend that each pair are mass loaded with Atabites in order to maximize their sonic potential (see below for quantity guidance and recommendations on the amount of mass filler to use).

Atabite quantity recommendation
Below are stated the recommended number of tubes to share between each pair of speaker stands. All vertical poles should be equally filled. Amounts are approximate and will not necessarily completely fill the tubes. It is suggested that you experiment with the exact amount to achieve the best sonic results for your particular system setup as the speakers, room acoustics, cable loom, positioning of the speakers and hifi components will determine how much Atabite filler to use to get the best sound from your speakers.
As a general rule, approximately half to two thirds full gives the best results. If you find the speakers are lacking high end detail and sounding dull at the lower end that usually means you have overfilled the stands and will need to reduce the volume of Atabites in each stand.
If the speakers are new, it is suggested that the exact amount of Atabites needed will best be determined once they are run in. Refer to your speaker instructions or contact the supplying retailer/ manufacturer for guidelines on running in recommendations.

Isolation is built into the rack
The Evoque Eco range uses ASIST damping gaskets as standard, along with a mechanical grounding system and modular isolation components. The SE2 versions add vectored resonance channels and contoured shelving. All of this is aimed at controlling vibration at the shelf, where it affects your sources.
Bamboo and oak, in several finishes
Bamboo panels are used in the Evoque range, and solid oak in the Apollo Storm and Apollo Podium ranges. Finishes include natural oak, dark oak, natural bamboo and dark bamboo, plus a Premium Black Edition, so a rack can be matched to the room it sits in.
Modular racks, with vinyl storage on some
The Apollo and Evoque racks are modular, so you can put together a rack that suits the equipment you own and add to it later. Apollo Storm and Apollo Podium offer vinyl storage, and it is an option on the Elite Reference Series.
