Atlas EOS Superior 2.5em Mains Power Cable
The Atlas Eos Superior 2.5em Mains Power Cable is the 2.5mm² version of the Eos Superior, the top power cable in Atlas's Eos range. Its job is to keep mains-borne and airborne interference out of your hi-fi. Tin-plated OFC conductors sit inside a multi-layer shield that pairs a carbon-loaded layer with an OFC screen, and Atlas connect that shield through their dual-drain system so the screen is not distorted where it meets the plug.
Interference of this kind rarely shows up as hiss or hum. You hear it when it has gone: Atlas describe a gain in dynamic range and coherence, steadier imaging and better timing, with less exaggerated sibilance, while the tonal character of your system stays the same. The conductors, dielectric and connections are damped against vibration, and the cable is finished in Atlas's Titanium fabric sleeve, with a 21mm outside diameter and a 20A current capacity.
Choose a UK 13A, EU Schuko or US Nema plug at the wall end, an IEC C15 or C19 connector at the equipment end, and a length of 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 3m or 5m. Atlas also list the Eos Superior 2.5em with an IEC C13 connector, so please contact us if your equipment needs that version. The cable is designed to work alongside Atlas's Eos Modular power blocks as part of the Eos power system.
What Atlas say about the Eos Superior 2.5em
Power management and distribution devices are in increasingly widespread use, principally as a result of the negative impact of RF pollution which surrounds us in daily life. The popularity of streaming devices has brought with it a realisation that it’s a technology which can seem particularly susceptible to the ingress of unwanted noise in the replay chain.
Compromises in power distribution and cabling will limit both absolute sound quality and the consistency of the results. Atlas has long been at the forefront of battling noise, protecting against RF (RadioFrequency) and EM (ElectroMagnetic) Interference. Our Eos components are very much focused on the elimination of the distortion caused by both air and mains-borne interference.
Our cables frequently feature more sophisticated levels of shielding than many others. Power blocks and cables are the basic building blocks; ours are designed to fully complement each other, allowing a consistent, logical approach to combinations and a clear upgrade path as your system evolves.
It’s important to understand that this interference is not directly audible as hiss or hum, but its effect is heard when it‘s substantially reduced or minimised – typically the system will gain in overall dynamic range and coherence, with improved sound-staging and improved timing. Music becomes clearer and easier to follow, without any change in the fundamental tonal character of the system. A reduction in exaggerated ‘spitty’ sibilance is often heard.
The Eos Superior 2.5em power cable represents the pinnacle of our power cable design expertise; a low-contact resistance cable with high-current capability and an impeccable noise-free performance pedigree.
A multi-layer carbon-loaded/OFC shielding configuration with dual-drain distortion-free screen system encases high-purity high current capacity 2.5mm² OFC conductors. Particular attention has been paid not only to the electrical design but also to addressing the harmful effects of unwanted vibration. Conductors, their enclosing high-efficiency dielectric and the terminating connections themselves benefit from precisely-targetted damping.
We've moved both build quality and aesthetics onto another level, the Eos Superior 2.5em looks stunning in its default Titanium fabric finish and feels superb in the hand. Power and precision.
An all round Superior performance.

About Atlas Cables
Scottish cable maker that designs and builds its own conductors, connectors and cables rather than assembling bought-in parts.
Atlas researches, designs and produces its cables in Scotland, with a handful of exceptions. Many cable brands assemble off-the-shelf components, but Atlas specifies the conductors, insulation and terminations itself and tests the result in its own listening room. It offers a five-year guarantee on its cables.

The plugs are Atlas designs too
Atlas designs its own RCA plugs. The Achromatic and Ultra RCAs are built for low mass and high bandwidth, and the newer Metik connectors were developed for personal audio. Designing the connectors in house means Atlas is not limited to what an outside supplier already sells.
Three performance levels, with named ranges in each
The catalogue is arranged in three performance levels. Upgrade covers Element and Equator, Aspire covers Hyper and Ailsa, and High End covers Mavros, Arran, Eos and Zeno. You can choose the level that suits the rest of your system, then move up later without changing brand.
Custom options and a repair service
Atlas lists luxe and speaker termination options, so you can specify a cable to suit the equipment at each end. It also repairs, customises and upgrades its cables through a dedicated service, which means you can bring an older cable up to date instead of replacing it.
Why we stock Atlas
Atlas run pure copper conductors through most of the range rather than silver or silver plating. That gives a warmer, more forgiving balance than the silver-plated cables we sell. If your system is already leaning bright, Atlas is usually where we point you first. Hand-built in Scotland, and we have sold them since 2008.
