Norse 2 is the middle Nordost family and covers three cables: Heimdall 2, Frey 2 and Tyr 2. As with Leif, the family name rather than the individual cable name is how Nordost organise the range, so a customer asking for Heimdall is asking for a Norse 2 cable.
This is where micro mono-filament construction arrives. A fine filament is wound helically around each conductor, holding the FEP insulation away so that most of what surrounds the signal is air. Air is the best dielectric available and the hardest to build a cable around, and the effect on the noise floor is the clearest step in the Nordost range.
