Chord EpicX Aray XLR/RCA Analogue Audio Cable Pair
If you're looking for an amazing analogue interconnect cable that's both high-performance and reliable, the EpicX ARAY interconnects from the Chord Company are the perfect choice. This cable is hand-built in the UK and features genuine audiophile pedigree.
It also features unique ARAY technology and is further upgraded with the latest XLPE insulation which allows it to deliver superior sound quality. The EpicX ARAY analogue cables are fitted with ChorAlloy™plated VEE 3 XLR connectors, ensuring a secure connection.
With its durable construction and great sound quality, the EpicX ARAY analogue interconnect is a great choice for any audiophile looking for a reliable and great sounding cable.
Why XLPE?
The construction and specification of all Chord Company cables are constantly evolving, allowing them to adapt quickly and take advantage of the latest technology. Insulation materials in particular have made great leaps forward which is why they are moving to XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) for EpicX ARAY.
After a succesful introduction via various Chord Company speaker cables it was logical to share the benefits of XLPE insulation with their interconnects. On the surface this would appear to be a fairly simple undertaking but, like many of these things, it got complicated..
Several versions and much field testing later Chord are very happy to announce that XLPE will now be incorporated into all Epic analogue interconnects. The new upgraded EpicX ARAY analogue cable retains the same high-performance shielding architecture and ARAY technology as its predecessor.
Contact Enhancer Option
To ensure the best possible connection between your system, Future Shop recommends the DeoxIT Gold G-Series contact enhancer.
DeoxIT Gold is carefully applied to the plug contacts of your cable and is a unique conditioning solution designed to improve conductivity and provide long-lasting protection on gold, base metals and other precious metal contacts and connections. DeoxIT Gold penetrates plated surfaces, molecularly bonding to the base metals to seal and protect both surfaces.
The benefits of applying DeoxIT gold are:
- Improved Conductivity
- Maintained optimum signal quality
- Reduced wear & abrasion
- Prevents fretting/dendrite corrosion
- Forms a protective anti-tarnishing coating
- Stabilises connections between similar and dissimilar metals
- Reduces arcing, RFI and intermittent connections
Please select this option from the above ‘Contact Enhancer’ drop-down menu and our engineers will apply the contact solution to your cable connectors prior to shipping.

About Chord Company
English cable maker that designs and hand builds in Wiltshire, known for its ARAY conductor technology.
Chord describes its cables as designed and hand built in England, at Amesbury in Wiltshire. The catalogue covers interconnects, speaker cables, power cables, HDMI cables, Burndy cables and accessories. ARAY conductor technology, and its Tuned ARAY refinement, appears across several of the ranges, from analogue interconnects to digital and USB cables.

ARAY conductors appear in several ranges
ARAY is Chord's conductor geometry. The Signature digital cables pair it with silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors, PTFE insulation and silver-plated braid and foil screening. Tuned ARAY is a later development of the same idea and appears in the Epic, Signature, Sarum and Shawline ranges, while ClearwayX carries ARAY.
Power and grounding get the same attention
Chord extends its ARAY work beyond signal cables, with PowerARAY, GroundARAY, PowerHAUS mains products and the PhonoARAY grounding product. ChorAlloy is another named Chord technology. Grounding and mains products work on a different part of the chain from signal cables, so they are the place to look when noise is the problem in your system.
Named ranges from one English maker
The ranges are Leyline, C-series, Clearway, Shawline, Epic, Signature and Sarum T, with ChordMusic as a further line. Chord describes its cables as English design and hand construction, so choosing a range comes down to your budget and your system, not to changing approach.
Why we stock Chord
A lot of our customers own Naim. Naim's DIN inputs need a specific cable that most brands simply do not make, and Chord build them properly, in Wiltshire, by hand. If you are running a Naim system and you want an interconnect that fits it correctly, this is where you end up. We have stocked them since 2007.
We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability.
