Chord Signature Tuned Aray Din Audio Cable
The Signature Tuned ARAY replaces the Signature Plus and is a completely new cables design, with all the wonderful timing and coherence that Tuned ARAY technology brings. There is that balance between all the things that a high fidelity system should do and the sense of being there and watching a performance take place in your living room.
As you progress through the Chord interconnect range, the Signature Tuned ARAY is the first interconnect to be built using Tuned ARAY principles. Originally developed for our Sarum cable range the Tuned ARAY technology works every bit as well on the Signature version. There is the same lift in detail, dynamics jump out, and drums surprise with the power. What really works though is the coherence of the music you play, the sense of involvement and being there. The realisation that hours have gone by and you only meant to sit down and listen to a couple of songs.
Listen to the Signature Tuned ARAY with: “50 Words for Snow” by Kate Bush and let something as abstract as “Lake Tahoe” pull you in to its barrenness and space.
Chord Signature Tuned ARAY analogue interconnects all use the same unique conductor formation, developed for our flagship Sarum Tuned ARAY interconnects. Each Signature conductor is built using high quality silver-plated conductors. Insulation is PTFE and the shielding consists of two layers of high-density silver-plated braid that is effective over a very wide frequency range. The shielding is covered with a white PTFE precision applied outer extrusion. Like Sarum, Signature Tuned ARAY cable is produced to extremely tight tolerances.
The Signature Tuned ARAY RCA cable is fitted with Chord’s ultra low mass RCA plugs. The silver-plated centre pin is set into a PTFE insulation block. The low mass silver-plated shield/return connector is fitted and a PTFE layer applied, before the precision machined, vibration damping acrylic plug casing is fitted. Our beautiful acrylic plug surrounds are individually machined for us by a British company that specialises in high precision acrylic parts for use in the medical industry.
Do not underestimate the profound improvements to performance that Tuned ARAY technology brings. The Signature Tuned ARAY is exceptionally transparent, both dynamically and particularly in terms of detail, timbre and pitch. This is an interconnect that can be used with almost any level of equipment and will deliver music with high levels of detail and an extraordinary level of cohesiveness.

ARAY conductors appear in several ranges
ARAY is Chord's conductor geometry. The Signature digital cables pair it with silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors, PTFE insulation and silver-plated braid and foil screening. Tuned ARAY is a later development of the same idea and appears in the Epic, Signature, Sarum and Shawline ranges, while ClearwayX carries ARAY.
Power and grounding get the same attention
Chord extends its ARAY work beyond signal cables, with PowerARAY, GroundARAY, PowerHAUS mains products and the PhonoARAY grounding product. ChorAlloy is another named Chord technology. Grounding and mains products work on a different part of the chain from signal cables, so they are the place to look when noise is the problem in your system.
Named ranges from one English maker
The ranges are Leyline, C-series, Clearway, Shawline, Epic, Signature and Sarum T, with ChordMusic as a further line. Chord describes its cables as English design and hand construction, so choosing a range comes down to your budget and your system, not to changing approach.
Why we stock Chord
A lot of our customers own Naim. Naim's DIN inputs need a specific cable that most brands simply do not make, and Chord build them properly, in Wiltshire, by hand. If you are running a Naim system and you want an interconnect that fits it correctly, this is where you end up. We have stocked them since 2007.
