Speakers are designed and made in France
Focal says its speakers are designed, developed and made in France, mainly in Saint-Etienne. Cabinets come from a facility in Bourbon-Lancy. The Saint-Etienne site covers research and production of drivers, speakers and headphones, so most of the work happens within one country.
Driver materials are a Focal speciality
Focal has developed a range of cone and dome materials, including Polykevlar, Polyglass, W cones, flax cones and a beryllium tweeter. Each is a different answer to the same problem of a cone that is light and rigid. Check the product page for the materials used in each model.
Headphones come in three categories
The headphone range is divided into hi-fi, wireless and professional models. The hi-fi models are for listening at home, the wireless models are for use out and about, and the professional models are for monitoring work. Choose by where you will wear them.
Why we stock Focal
We already had a relationship with Focal before we took the headphones on, which made the decision straightforward. They are unusual among headphone brands in making their own drivers, and the M-shaped dome runs from the accessible models to the reference ones. Few other brands we carry can put that much of their own engineering into a headphone.

Battery life after six months of use is also impressive. Build quality is top-notch, as expected from Focal. The wireless app is regularly updated, and new functionality has been added.
Highly recommend to anyone in search of a high-quality audio experience. From the exceptional sound quality and wireless performance to the comfort and build quality, these headphones truly deliver. Whether you're a music enthusiast or a casual listener, the Bathys are an excellent investment.
I never thought I would consider Bluetooth headphones; however, listening to the Bathys, PX8 and the ML 5909 (different price points to the other two), I was blown away by the sound of all three. For me, the Bathys sounded the best, not a heavily laden with bass as the PX8 but still punching well; however, it is the separation and the way the Bathys plays with your mind. It seems the music doesn't come from the cans but seems to swirl around your head, dancing around and creating an excellent soundstage, unlike anything I have experienced before.
My pair need running in now. I have spent around 30 hours listening on them, and each time they seem to sound better. I'm unsure how much more 'running in' they will need. I've just bought an Astell & Kern SR25 Mk2; such is the draw from the headphones to want to start ripping my CD collection and listen to tracks I have not heard for a long time.
The beauty is the Bathys will accept being wired and wireless ... It will be interesting to hear their differences.
