Furutech FT-809 Torque Guard Binding Posts - Gold - Pair
The Furutech FT-809 Gold is a pair of Torque Guard speaker binding posts for amplifier and loudspeaker panels. What sets it apart is the tightening nut. Once it reaches the torque Furutech settled on, a ratchet stops it going any further, so every post on a speaker or amplifier clamps the cable with the same force and none can be over-tightened.
The conductor is Furutech's Alpha pure copper, plated in 24k gold, and the housing is non-resonant polycarbonate with a copper alloy ring. Cable is attached by solder or crimp, and the post takes conductors up to 4.5mm in diameter. It is a larger post than Furutech's FP-803, at about 74.6mm overall with a 25mm by 30mm housing, so check your panel against the drawing below. Furutech suggest an 11.6mm hole with locating notches and at least 35mm between post centres.
Supplied as a pair, which is two posts. The FT-809 is also made with rhodium plating as the FT-809 Rhodium. Furutech's own photograph shows one rhodium-plated and one gold-plated post side by side; this listing is for the gold-plated version.

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. It also uses a material called GC-303 to absorb electromagnetic interference. These are Furutech's own descriptions of what the materials are designed to do.

If applicable, the customer will be liable for the taxes at the local tax rate, duty on the import and the brokerage service fee. This may need to be paid in advance to your local Customs & Excise office or the delivery company before your order can be delivered.
We offer the following shipping services:
- Royal Mail First Class International Airmail Services - Items are usually delivered within 7 to 10 working days
- Royal Mail Standard International Mail Services - Items are usually delivered within 15 working days
- DHL Express International - Items are usually delivered within 24 to 48 hours. DHL orders must be received by 3:30pm for next day service to most destinations in Europe
- Federal Express International Priority - Items are usually delivered within 48 hours. FedEx orders must be received by 3.00pm in order to ship items the same day, subject to stock availability
- Where the actual weight of the package significantly exceeds the shipping cost charged on orders, we may write to you for an additional shipping charge. For larger orders, items may be shipped in multiple packets at our discretion
We reserve the right to change your shipping method without notification if you select a method that we cannot use for your shipment (for instance, we cannot ship via postal services for items over 2 Kg to International destinations). If we need to change your shipping method, we will choose the least expensive shipping method for your order.
