Furutech Project V1-LAN Ethernet Cable - 1.2m
The Furutech Project V1-LAN is the network cable in Furutech's flagship Project V1 family, the same range as the Furutech Project V1-D Digital Coaxial Audio Cable we already sell. The Project V1-D carries an S/PDIF digital audio signal between RCA plugs; the V1-LAN is a Category 8 Ethernet cable with an RJ45 plug at each end, for the network connection into a streamer, network player or music server. It uses silver-plated Alpha OCC conductors given Furutech's cryogenic and demagnetising Alpha Process, with NCF in the cable and connectors to suppress static and resonance. The aim is a quieter, more stable background, so fine detail, dynamics and the sense of space in a recording come through more clearly.
It is also a big step on from the Furutech LAN-8 NCF Ethernet Cable, Furutech's other Category 8 cable. Both use silver-plated Alpha OCC conductors, but the V1-LAN has five layers of shielding where the LAN-8 NCF has three, and at 13.5mm across it is almost twice the LAN-8 NCF's 7mm, with a double-layer outer sleeve, hollow-tube fillers and a damping ring on the cable to control vibration. The plugs differ too. The V1-LAN's RJ45 connectors sit in stainless steel housings built from four layers of NCF carbon fibre, with conductors and shielding of 24k gold-plated weak-magnetic copper alloy.
The Project V1-LAN comes in Furutech's 1.2m production length. It is directional: connecting it the wrong way round will not damage the cable or your equipment, but Furutech say it will not sound its best, so it is worth fitting it the right way round. As a Category 8 cable it is backward compatible with Category 7 and Category 6, and Furutech rate it for 40 Gigabit Ethernet and frequencies up to 2000MHz.

Carefully engineered cable damping ring improves grip and reduces mechanical and electrically induced distortion.
NCF Carbon Fibre Connector Housing
The Project V1-LAN housing body ring has been formed from special resonance damping Stainless Steel and Furutech’s NCF material and the housing constructed of 4 layers of special hybrid NCF forged texture carbon fiber. The best of damping and insulation materials improve frequency extension and tonal balance.
NCF End Cover
The NCF End Cover is formed from special heat-resistant nylon and Furutech’s NCF material for improved effectiveness, ultimate resonance damping for improved tonal balance.
Stainless Steel Security Screws
The main body and shell of the product are fixed with special anti-shock stainless steel security screws customized. Factory adjusted to optimum torque value for performance.
Deep Gold-Plated Weak-Magnetic RJ45 Connectors
Thick gold-plated conductor provides a larger contact area for stable data transfer. The shielding is made of 24k gold-plated weak-magnetic copper alloy to prevent signal degradation and ensure accurate audio transmission.
Category 8
Category 8 is backward compatible with Categories 7 and 6. It also features improved specifications for crosstalk and system noise than Category 7 with added shielding for each individual wire pair and the cable as a whole. Besides the additional shielding, the Project V1-LAN features twisted pairs with the number of twists per unit length increasing RF shielding and protecting from crosstalk.
Category 8 cable allows 40 Gigabit Ethernet and frequencies of up to 2000 MHz (Category 7 X 3.3). Noise interference resistant, providing a fast and stable network environment.

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. It also uses a material called GC-303 to absorb electromagnetic interference. These are Furutech's own descriptions of what the materials are designed to do.

Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.

A cryogenic and demagnetising treatment
The Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment with demagnetisation, and Furutech applies it to its alpha-treated pure copper. It sits alongside Ohno Continuous Cast single-crystal copper in the conductor line-up, so the Furutech catalogue includes more than one route to a pure copper conductor.
Copper, silver and hybrid conductors
Furutech's materials include silver-plated copper and copper-silver hybrids as well as OCC and alpha-treated copper. DUCC and PC-Triple C copper appear in some of its cables. This range of conductors means the same plug design can be paired with different cable types.
NCF material and interference absorption
Furutech describes its NCF, short for Nano Crystal Formula, as generating negative ions and converting thermal energy into far infrared energy. Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.
