Gefen Ultra High Speed 8K HDMI 2.1 Certified Cable (Active)
The Gefen Active Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable solves a particular problem: getting full HDMI 2.1 performance over distance. At 48Gbps, the bandwidth needed for 8K and 4K at 120Hz, a plain copper cable can only hold the signal reliably for a few metres before losses start to cause dropouts, sparkles or a blank screen. These 10m and 15m cables have integrated electronics that boost the signal along its length. Gefen explain that this keeps the full 48Gbps bandwidth all the way to the far end, so every HDMI 2.1 feature arrives intact.
That makes them suited to the connections short cables can't reach: a ceiling-mounted projector, a display across the room from the equipment rack, a TV on a wall away from the AV receiver, or a commercial installation. The signal they carry is the full HDMI 2.1 specification. That includes 8K, 4K at 120Hz and resolutions up to 10K for commercial and specialist use, with Dynamic HDR adjusting brightness, contrast and colour scene by scene. The cables also support eARC, so lossless Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio can travel back from the display to a soundbar or receiver, and the gaming features VRR, ALLM, QFT and QMS. HDCP 2.2, EDID, DDC and CEC all pass through, and the cables remain backward compatible with 18Gbps and 10.2Gbps equipment.
The construction is the same as on Gefen's shorter cables. The 24K gold-plated, diecast HDMI Type A connectors give a solid, corrosion-free connection. The cable is up to 50% thinner than conventional HDMI cable, which matters more at these lengths, where it often has to be pulled through walls, ceilings or conduit.
For shorter connections, the Gefen Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable is also available in passive 2m and 3m lengths. Gefen back the active cables with a three-year warranty.

How It Works
The Gefen Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable works by providing a direct, high-bandwidth digital connection between a source device and a display. Simply connect one HDMI end to your source, such as a gaming console or 8K Blu-ray player, and the other end to an HDMI input on your TV or commercial display. This 10-meter cable is an Active cable, meaning it contains integrated electronics that boost the signal to ensure the full 48 Gbps bandwidth is maintained over the longer distance. This guarantees that all HDMI 2.1 features, including 8K/4K resolutions, Dynamic HDR, and eARC, are delivered reliably without signal loss or degradation.
These official HDMI 2.1 certified cables are designed to support high bandwidth 4K/8K features, including higher video resolutions and faster refresh rates. Supporting resolutions up to 10K for commercial AV applications, a full 48 Gbps bandwidth, Dynamic HDR, and eARC for the most advanced audio formats, this cable provides the performance required for the most demanding modern installations.

Extenders and switchers move signals around a building
Gefen's extenders carry audio and video beyond the reach of a standard cable, and its matrix switchers route several sources to several screens. Splitters and scalers sit alongside them. Support for 4K, 8K and HDBaseT depends on the model, so check the specification.
KVM switches share one set of controls
A KVM switch lets you operate several computers from one keyboard, mouse and display. Gefen includes KVM over IP models, which extend that control across a network, so the computer and the person using it do not need to be in the same room.
Adaptors, cables and test tools support the system
The range includes AV adaptors, wall plates, HDMI and Ethernet cables, power supplies and control processors, as well as test tools such as the DVI Detective. Syner-G is its management software. Check the product page for the items currently available.
