Matrix Audio MS-1c Music Streamer
The Matrix Audio MS-1c is the entry point into the M Series, and it is built around the flagship AKM VELVETSOUND DAC solution combining the AK4191 and AK4499EX chips. Supporting PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD up to 1-bit/24.58MHz with a dynamic range of up to 125dB, the technical foundation is serious. A dual femtosecond clock architecture, supported by a high-speed FPGA with jitter reduction, keeps timing precise and the noise floor exceptionally low, translating directly into improved texture, airiness, and a more composed presentation across the full frequency range.
Where the MS-1c truly distinguishes itself is in the analogue stage, which uses Swedish LUNDAHL precision transformers for signal coupling. The result is a warm, smooth, and full-bodied character that feels natural and engaging rather than clinical or fatiguing. Both XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs are included with selectable output levels for careful matching to any amplifier or active speaker, and a 100-step digital volume control means it can drive a power amplifier directly without the need for a preamplifier in the chain.

Streaming sits alongside the DACs
Matrix makes plain DACs as well as network-connected units. The mini-i and X-SABRE are DAC lines, while the Element series combines a streaming DAC with a network connection. That means you can choose between a simple converter and a streamer, depending on how you play your music.
Software that runs on the hardware
The MA Player system is a Linux-based high-resolution playback platform, and the MA Remote app controls it from Android, iOS and iPadOS devices. Because the software is Matrix's own, you control the streamer from the same app whichever model you choose.
Digital accessories for your network
Matrix also lists the SU-1 USB isolation switcher, the SI-1 network isolator and the SS-1 Pro network switch, plus clock sources. These are for digital systems where you want to tidy up the path between the network, the streamer and the DAC.

We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.

European Countries

Greater Precision
The MS-1c employs dual femtosecond clock architecture. Two custom femtosecond clocks provide references for 44.1kHz and 48kHz based sampling rates. Combined with a high-speed FPGA featuring frequency division and jitter reduction algorithms, this design significantly minimizes phase noise and improves data reconstruction accuracy—resulting in enhanced airiness and texture.
Dual Analog Outputs
The MS-1c features both XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced analog outputs, with two selectable output level settings. Users can match the output levels to the input sensitivity of power amplifiers or active speakers, ensuring optimal gain structure and avoiding distortion or dynamic loss. Additionally, it offers high-precision digital volume control with 100-step attenuation, allowing for direct connection to power amplifiers or active speakers.
CD Ripping & Playback
By connecting an external USB CD drive, users can enjoy CD playback and easily rip CDs into digital files. An NVMe SSD slot on the bottom allows easy storage expansion. Streaming sits alongside the DACs
Matrix makes plain DACs as well as network-connected units. The mini-i and X-SABRE are DAC lines, while the Element series combines a streaming DAC with a network connection. That means you can choose between a simple converter and a streamer, depending on how you play your music.
Software that runs on the hardware
The MA Player system is a Linux-based high-resolution playback platform, and the MA Remote app controls it from Android, iOS and iPadOS devices. Because the software is Matrix's own, you control the streamer from the same app whichever model you choose.
Digital accessories for your network
Matrix also lists the SU-1 USB isolation switcher, the SI-1 network isolator and the SS-1 Pro network switch, plus clock sources. These are for digital systems where you want to tidy up the path between the network, the streamer and the DAC.

We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.

European Countries
