QED Performance Audio Cable
The QED Performance Audio is the stereo RCA interconnect from QED's new Performance range, the second of the four tiers QED now sell (Connect, Performance, Reference and Signature). It connects an analogue source such as a CD player, DAC, tuner or streamer to a hi-fi amplifier, and it brings technology from QED's higher ranges down to a more accessible price.
The core of the cable is QED's Solid Complementary Conductor Technology. Instead of one stranded conductor per channel, each channel uses two electrically isolated solid-core conductors of 99.999% oxygen-free copper, deliberately made in different diameters. QED designed this to reduce the high-frequency timing errors, which they describe as time-smearing, that unbalanced analogue signals can suffer. In their listening tests the cable kept the rhythm and drive of the music and gave an exceptionally wide, deep stereo image. The conductors sit in a foamed polyethylene dielectric, which keeps capacitance low and losses down for the high input impedances found on analogue line inputs.
Noise rejection gets as much attention. A dual electrostatic screen keeps external electrical noise out of the signal path. Around it is QED's Ferrite Insulation Technology, an overall jacket of zinc-manganese ferrite that absorbs digital and radio-frequency interference before it reaches the signal. This matters more than it used to, now that most hi-fi racks share space with streamers, routers and phones. The outer jacket is an ultra-flexible TPE, which makes the cable easy to route and reduces microphonic handling noise, the faint sound a cable can make when it is moved or knocked. Gold-plated QED phono plugs give a low-noise, high-conductivity connection that won't tarnish.
The Performance Audio is available in 0.75m, 1.5m and 3.0m lengths.

We use Royal Mail 1st Class services for our Standard Delivery.
Orders received before 4.30 pm Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day by FIRST CLASS post (unless premium postal or timed courier services are selected), subject to stock availability. This does not apply to custom-length cables and speaker cables as these require a longer timescale to terminate. This also excludes all cables selected for the burn-in service. Please note, we do not process orders on national holidays in the UK. Over 98% of our orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays.
Standard delivery is usually within 2 working days, although 98% of all orders are delivered the next working day including Saturdays. In extreme cases, such as delivery to the Highlands and Islands, this may take 3 days.
All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.
