AudioQuest Vodka RJ/E Ethernet Cable
Over the past several years there’s been a revolution in the way people store, distribute, and access digital media (in real time), including photos, movies, and, of course, music. No longer dependent on physical media, our media is often data that’s moved from multiple devices to multiple locations. For audio applications and protocols, audio over Ethernet offers the virtues of high-speed, low time delay (latency), significant distance capability (1000 feet without an active booster or repeater), and extremely low-jitter, bit-perfect communication. Who wouldn't want all of these things?
Features :
- Solid 10% Silver Conductors
- Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation
- Gold-Plated Terminations
- High-Speed Data Capacity
- Directionality
Solid 10% Silver Conductors :
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like Ethernet audio. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality Ethernet cables.
Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation :
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then later released as distortion. Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry while minimizing insulation-induced phase distortion.
Gold-Plated Terminations :
Precision-made low-loss ultra-wide bandwidth connectors with 100% shield coverage and strain relief.
High-Speed Data Capacity :
The Cat 7 cable standard has been created to allow 10- Gigabyte Ethernet over 100 m of copper cabling.
Directionality :
All audio cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest audio cable. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior sound quality. For best results have the arrow pointing in the direction of the flow of music. For example, NAS to Router, Router to Network Player.
Specification :
- Metal: Solid 10% Silver
- Dielectric: Solid High-Density Polyethylene
- Termination: Precision-made low-mass ultra-wide bandwidth connectors with 100% shield coverage and strain relief
- Jacket Colour: Up to 3m - Black/Blue Braid 5m and longer - CMG (CL3 & FT4) rated Black/Blue PVC
About AudioQuest
AudioQuest has been the largest cable supplier to the high-end specialist market for many years. AudioQuest is sold in several hundred outlets in the US and in over sixty countries. Bill Lowe (Founder) is especially pleased that this success has been possible despite his insistence that the foundation of the company, and the foundation of AudioQuest marketing, must be the performance of the product. In the audio world, many professionals have learned that it is not always convenient to listen to the products they sell … they might learn something they don’t want to know! Bill has always understood the challenge of basing the existence of AudioQuest on the performance of the product. However, to Bill, this is the only reasonable way to do business and the only acceptable way to combine his passion for music (and all things high performance), with his need to make a living.
About AudioQuest
Californian cable maker covering analogue, digital, speaker and power cables, with patented conductor and dielectric designs.
AudioQuest is based in Irvine, California, and makes cables for nearly every connection in a system: analogue interconnects, USB, HDMI and Ethernet, speaker cables and AC power cables. Its designs come back to four ideas: solid conductors, directionality, noise dissipation and the quality of the metal.

Conductor and metal choices come first
Solid conductors and metal quality are two of the ideas AudioQuest returns to across its range. HyperLitz, a conductor construction patented in 1988, is another. Directionality, the principle that a cable is built to carry signal in one direction, is the fourth.
Noise is treated as a separate design problem
AudioQuest lists its noise-dissipation technologies as ZERO-Tech, RF/ND-Tech and the Dielectric-Bias System, which was patented in 2004. They are applied alongside the conductor work rather than in place of it, and which ones a cable carries depends on the model and its price.
One brand across the whole system
AudioQuest also makes AC power cables, Niagara and PowerQuest power conditioners and DragonFly DACs alongside its analogue, digital and speaker cables. If you are building or upgrading a system, that means every cable in the chain, and the power feeding it, can come from one design approach.
Why we stock AudioQuest
We took AudioQuest on for HDMI. When the 1.4 spec arrived in 2009 they were the first supplier who could actually get the cables to us, at a point when almost nobody could. The power cables turned out to be just as good, and they are now a bigger part of what we sell than the HDMI ever was.
Specification :
- Metal: Solid 10% Silver
- Dielectric: Solid High-Density Polyethylene
- Termination: Precision-made low-mass ultra-wide bandwidth connectors with 100% shield coverage and strain relief
- Jacket Colour: Up to 3m - Black/Blue Braid 5m and longer - CMG (CL3 & FT4) rated Black/Blue PVC

Customers consistently praise the AudioQuest Vodka Ethernet cable for delivering noticeable improvements in sound quality, citing enhanced clarity, detail, reduced jitter, and improved soundstage. Build quality is repeatedly described as excellent with quality terminations. The cable performs well across various price-point systems, though reviewers acknowledge it is expensive; several note it represents good value relative to component costs and mention it outperforms cheaper alternatives like standard cables and the AQ Cinnamon model. FutureShop receives consistent commendation for service, next-day delivery, and a 60-day trial policy. Reviewers largely agree on performance benefits, though some note diminishing returns compared to pricier alternatives like the AQ Diamond. No recurring negative complaints about the product itself were identified, though cost and difficulty in objective measurement of sonic improvements were noted by some reviewers.

Excelente rendimiento del cable, máxima calidad!
Excelente para conectar ethernet y no perder datos y reducir el jitter .
My digital setup (Naim, Auralic etc) cost pennys compared to attempting the same SQ with vinyl, and it's impossible to tell which is which!
Fabulous cable, fantastic service and international delivery from FutureShop once again... AAA+++
Auralic Aries >> Matrix DDC >> Naim ND5 XS2
I use a £5 cable from my teleco-supplied router going into a £30 Cisco 2960 switch -installing the AQ Vodka from the Cisco switch into the Aries is an astounding upgrade, and far cheaper than more boxes/ external PSUs etc... could not be happier.
Thank you, FutureShop -job done :)
I immediately noticed an improvement in SQ (vs. standard Ethernet and AQ Carbon), especially on HD downloads.
Impressive build quality (comparable to Chord Epix cables ).
It's an expensive cable, but at less than 5% of the RRP of the units it connects, it's in my honest opinion a worthwhile purchase.
More detailed and analogue sounding.
