Built in Quebec, warranted for ten years
Simaudio have been manufacturing in Quebec since 1980 and do almost everything in-house, from circuit board assembly to the machined casework. That vertical integration is unusual at their scale and is the reason the ten year warranty is credible rather than a marketing line.
The MOON range spans integrated amplifiers, separates, DACs, network players and phono stages, with the North Collection at the accessible end and the reference models above.
The house sound is generally described as neutral and unfussy rather than characterful, which makes the electronics easy to build a system around: they tend not to impose a signature that then needs correcting elsewhere.
Products stay in the range for years and are supported long after, which matters for a purchase at this level.

The MOON 390 is a multi-function crossover type product that has the function of a modern network player, DAC, preamplifier, headphone amplifier, and phono stage. Roughly, it combines the feature set of both older model 350P and 380D and adds further. Another point of view: it can be seen as an All-in-One without a power amplifier. Still, it will be pricier than Moon's All-in-One ACE as it is of a higher pedigree and higher performance level. The 390 was the first new product to benefit from MiND 2 streamer technology.
