CR-IPS1 – IP to Serial Controller with a Single I/O Port
The CYP CR-IPS1 is an IP to serial controller that bridges modern IP control networks to serial-controlled equipment, allowing a single RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 device to be operated remotely over a standard network. In installations where projectors, displays, matrices and other hardware still rely on serial commands, the CR-IPS1 makes that device reachable from a control system or PC anywhere on the network, removing the need to run dedicated serial cabling back to a central location.
Control and configuration are handled through a comprehensive set of interfaces, including a built-in WebGUI, Telnet and a console connection over RS-232, so commands can be issued and the unit set up in whatever way best suits the installation. The single serial port is wired through a 5-pin Phoenix connector and supports RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485, giving broad compatibility across different manufacturers' control schemes. The unit supports the IEEE 802.1x RTS/CTS protocol to avoid hidden-station collisions, provides clear LED indicators for power and Ethernet status, and allows convenient field firmware updates via USB or a dedicated hotkey.
Power is flexible: the CR-IPS1 can run from Power over Ethernet, drawing both data and power from a single network cable connected to a standard PoE switch, or from a 12V supply where PoE is not available.
