Hi-Fi Cartridges

Ortofon's 2M Mono uses a nude spherical diamond as an optimal solution to playback mono microgroove LP vinyl records. By utilising Ortofon's strapped output, both pole pins within the cartridge deliver the same output signal, resulting in a truly mono reproduction possible through any stereo playback system.

Ortofon's 2M Bronze improves further on the 2M Blue by using a nude fine line diamond stylus. This stylus utilises a slimmer profile to track the higher frequency information more accurately. On top of this, the 2M Bronze has a specially upgraded engine with silver-plated copper wire to read and preserve as much frequency information as possible. Overall, the performance of your system with a 2M Bronze can improve with greater detail and resolution, preserving more of the original audio signal and ultimately improving your listening experience.

Ortofon's 2M Black is a testament to the quality and engineering that Ortofon's engineers produce for the best cartridges. It is for this reason that the 2M Black is the flagship moving magnet cartridge offered by Ortofon. The tip of the 2M Black is a slim, highly polished Shibata diamond which exceeds the usual contact area in the grooves of a vinyl. By improving on the contact area, there is a notable increase in frequency reproduction to ensure the utmost detail and quality in the playback of your vinyls.

Ortofon's MC Quintet Red is a perfect introduction to the world of Ortofon moving coils. It features an Elliptical diamond which is cut and polished to Ortofon’s standards. This entry-level MC cartridge has very high price-to-performance ratio and is a perfect all-rounder for the newcomers to the world of Moving Coil cartridges.

Ortofon's MC Quintet Blue is a very homogeneous cartridge whose sound image will tend to more smooth reproduction compared to Quintet Red and moderate dynamic strength compared to Quintet Bronze. It features a Nude Elliptical diamond mounted on an aluminium cantilever. The Quintet Blue will bring more space, depth and detail into the sound and is a very good choice for any kind of music, especially rhythmic.

Ortofon's MC Quintet Bronze moves into the higher league of the Quintets. The slim profile of its Nude Fine Line diamond stylus will track even the highest frequency information, making it a must for discerning listeners. Additionally its larger footprint ensures reduced distortion and record wear. The sound will be very evenhanded with respect to all aspects. Classical music will be reproduced with power and open space around each of the instruments. All types of music will be conveyed with the highest accuracy, precision and dynamics.

Ortofon's MC Quintet Black is the best example of Quintet’s overall excellence. The new MC Quintet Black S model is graced with Shibata stylus on the Sapphire cantilever. Sapphire is one of the best cantilever options that provides an excellent mechanical pulse transfer from the stylus to the coil system. The Quintet Black S produces detailed and pure reproduction though-out the spectrum, volume and soundstage. The Quintet Black S will be unfettered by musical genre and will give the closest approach within the Quintet Series to Ortofon’s true accuracy in sound.

Ortofon's MC Quintet Mono is a new true Mono from Ortofon. It features Nude Elliptical r/R 8/18μm stylus that is a good solution for playing mono microgroove vinyl records. The Quintet Mono will track perfectly through even worn and damaged records and ensure the surface noise control. Quintet Mono uses a strapped output to deliver the same output signal from both sets of pole pins. This effectively eliminates the need for mono-specific equipment, making it possible to enjoy true mono reproduction on any stereo playback system. Quintet Mono is the best cartridge in the Quintet series to play monophonic records.

Ortofon's MC Cadenza Red is using a nude fine line stylus with a cylindrical aluminium cantilever and coils made from pure silver wire. An improved winding process on the armature allows a better channel balance. The sound picture of Cadenza Red is more relaxed, homogeneous and moderately dynamic in the perspective compared to the Cadenza Blue and have great space and depth in the stereo image.

Ortofon's MC Cadenza Blue is using a Nude FG 70 stylus with a very thin ruby cantilever. The improved winding process on the armature ensures better channel balance. The soundstage of Cadenza Blue is wide open and grandiose straight out of the box. Micro dynamic and ambience will be evident when listening to complex compositions. It reaches a very high degree of definition in the perspective, which is very present. It is true to the music with a tremendous clarity.

Ortofon's MC Cadenza Bronze is using a Replicant 100 stylus and a conical aluminium cantilever. The coil wire is the famous Ortofon Aucurum wire, which is a gold plated 6NX copper wire. A Field Stabilizing Element, FSE, is used for optimal linearity especially during complex crescendo passages. Cadenza Bronze is a true high-end reference cartridge, conveying music with supreme precision, impact and dynamics. Its stereo imaging capabilities illuminate the farthest corners of the soundstage in all three dimensions.

Ortofon's MC Cadenza Black is using a Nude Shibata stylus with a boron cantilever. The effective mass of the stylus/cantilever system is extremely low due to the use of a very thin boron rod. This material is extremely stiff and even more lightweight than aluminium. It also uses the WRD (Wide Range Damping-system), controlling the high and low frequency damping separately. Cadenza Black is optimized for an amazing tonal neutrality, dynamics and purity of sound. It is high performing on areas like detail, consistency and sound staging.
