"We connect our MacBook to the USB input and find that the Moon has no issue skipping from DSD (up to DSD256) and 24-bit/192kHz PCM (with a upper limit of 384kHz) to MQA files. There’s a fine sense of organisation and a commendable level of composure when the piece gets demanding. The 390 never sounds rushed or flustered, and that allows the listener to sit back and simply enjoy the music." What Hi-Fi? 5 Star Review - November 2018 |
|
"After two days I sat down in my listening chair and started to listen more critically. First impressions always count, and these were overwhelmingly positive. Whether playing silver discs or vinyl, I was totally immersed in the music. The grip on the Harbeths was extraordinary. Subtle detail was revealed clearly yet there was tremendous bass slam when required. I played disc after disc and loved the clean, powerful sound of the Moon pairing. Effortless, yet with rhythm, pace and timing very reminiscent of my high end Naim system more than a decade ago, but with a slightly more three dimensional presentation. It boogies hard when required but has a brilliant lightness of touch with acoustic and classical material too. Stereo imaging and sound staging are absolutely terrific. Individual instruments have their own space and do not wander about disconcertingly." The EAR - March 2019 |
|
"My listening told me that the MOON 390 is an utterly transparent DAC-preamp with a noise floor so low it’s difficult to believe"
|
|
"Rich and full, the bass speed and quality are both excellent. The soundstage is well-presented for the price level of the preamplifier, it’s not as cavernous and as vast as the VAC/Dave/dCS, but it’s impressive. There’s something that’s inviting about what it’s doing. The 390 shows the musicality of the players, the sense of fun, and communication that’s going on." Hi-Fi+ Equipment Review - October 2018

MiND 2 is MOON's streaming platform, with a controller app for browsing and playing your music. It is built into the company's streamers and streaming DACs, so you can use the same app across several products. Check the product page for which models include it.
Two named technologies shape the circuits
MOON says its MHP, or MOON Hybrid Power, supplies stable, low-noise power to sensitive circuits. It also says its MDCA, the MOON Distortion-Cancelling Amplifier, reduces distortion and improves linearity. These are the maker's descriptions, so check which models use them.

MiND 2 is the streaming platform
MiND 2 is MOON's streaming platform, with a controller app for browsing and playing your music. It is built into the company's streamers and streaming DACs, so you can use the same app across several products. Check the product page for which models include it.
Two named technologies shape the circuits
MOON says its MHP, or MOON Hybrid Power, supplies stable, low-noise power to sensitive circuits. It also says its MDCA, the MOON Distortion-Cancelling Amplifier, reduces distortion and improves linearity. These are the maker's descriptions, so check which models use them.
