The QSA Light Blue mains fuse consistently receives praise for delivering audible improvements across audio systems, with customers reporting enhanced detail, clarity, wider soundstage, improved dynamics, lower noise floor, and warmer, more musical sound compared to standard or competing audiophile fuses. Multiple reviewers noted significant improvements after burn-in periods of one to two weeks. Directionality proved important—correct orientation noticeably improved sound while incorrect placement produced glare or thinness. I would recommend giving the light blue a try.
I must state that when I rang up and spoke to Mark, it was about some new digital coax, but he was sure it was a better idea to try a mains fuse. He was sure the yellow was the one for me, but I thought I would dip my toe in gently, so I ordered the light blue. It's a strange thing, but I thought at first there was no way it was worth the money, but Mark said, "Leave it in and listen.
I must also say I removed an HFT Supreme3 fuse, so I was ok with the sound, although it could be a little too glaring at the top end, so I thought of a new cable. So I warmed up by playing music in the background for 2 hours, then I sat down. Put on a CD I know well and well, where to start, soundstage wider, and details brought from a background I've not perceived before.
So, is it a better fuse than HFT? Yes, and I mean a resounding yes. What I have at the moment is a smoother sound, less across the frequencies. Bass is more tuneful, with a wider, deeper soundstage, and the music's detail is brought into the mix. For me, at this early stage in burn-in.
I can recommend the QST fuse. It has been a real improvement to my system.
