Sbooster BOTW MKII Linear Power Supply - 5-6V Rating
The Best of Two Worlds Power & Precision ECO MKII linear audio upgrade power supply (BOTW P&P ECO) is the successor of Sbooster's BOTW P&P ECO, which was introduced in the summer of 2015. The BOTW P&P ECO upgrade power supply combines power, precision and efficiency in a unique innovative manner and is the best choice for every audiophile.
With the BOTW P&P ECO audio upgrade, the purification of the current starts immediately there where the polluted current enters the upgrade. The dual-stage mains filter and an earth line choke clean the current from high-frequency pollution before the current reaches the transformer. The transformer is a custom-made audio grade transformer with electrostatic shielding and is magnetically shielded.
The electronic design is innovative: it gets 50% more output out of the used electronics and consumes even up to 35% less energy than a conventional design. The BOTW P&P ECO audio upgrade concept is so efficient that it consumes only a bit more energy than the standard supplied high efficient, but also highly polluting switch mode adapter. It costs you annually a couple of euro extra on your energy bill for a priceless sound experience.
Finally, at the end of the DC cable, the unique split current system has been placed. The power supply of the BOTW P&P ECO audio upgrade provides the split current system with continuous powerful and clean power, so the electronics can do their job profoundly, which is to buffer the power, so that the power supply becomes very fast, and to filter one last time the voltage and current before they enter the audio device.

The BOTW P&P ECO MKII is the main model
BOTW stands for Best of Two Worlds, and P&P for Power and Precision. SBooster says the MKII has a better circuit board and improved magnetic shielding. Supplies are offered at 5-6, 9-10, 12-13, 15-16, 18-19 and 24V, so choose the one that matches your equipment.
The Ultra adds active filtering
The Ultra is an add-on that uses active filtering. SBooster says its supplies give more output current than the standard version and use less energy, with a two-stage mains filter and a custom transformer. These are the maker's claims, so check the specification.
Match the voltage before you buy

The BOTW P&P ECO MKII is the main model
BOTW stands for Best of Two Worlds, and P&P for Power and Precision. SBooster says the MKII has a better circuit board and improved magnetic shielding. Supplies are offered at 5-6, 9-10, 12-13, 15-16, 18-19 and 24V, so choose the one that matches your equipment.
The Ultra adds active filtering
The Ultra is an add-on that uses active filtering. SBooster says its supplies give more output current than the standard version and use less energy, with a two-stage mains filter and a custom transformer. These are the maker's claims, so check the specification.
Match the voltage before you buy
A linear supply must match the voltage your equipment needs, and the plug type. Using the wrong voltage can damage a device. Check the voltage and current rating printed on your existing power adaptor, then match it to the SBooster version.

All items are fully insured and come with an invoice from Future Shop. We use the Royal Mail for delivery of small packages and DPD Local or DHL for items that weigh over 2KG. Items over 2KG are fully insured and will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order subject to stock availability. For international orders, we use FedEx or DHL services where customers have selected this option.

Customers overwhelmingly praise this linear power supply, particularly when paired with the Chord Qutest DAC, reporting significant improvements in sound quality including tighter bass, enhanced clarity, improved soundstage, and reduced harshness. The unit delivers noticeable benefits straight from the box, with performance continuing to improve after a burn-in period of several days. Build quality is generally solid, though the plastic casing is large, bulky, and described as industrial in appearance. The product offers upgrade options including external filters and improved AC cables. Common complaints include the stiff DC power lead, shorter-than-desired cable length, and unclear instructions. The device requires a micro-USB adapter not always included in packaging, and compatibility should be verified before purchase. One recurring concern is that instructions lack clarity and users should request the micro-USB plug separately from the retailer.
In both cases, the results were positive, with improvements in sound and vision. The unit is a bit bigger than I expected and feels a bit bulky and somewhat "industrial" (function over form) compared to other devices like iFi Audio's Elite DC power supply, which is a similar type of device. The DC power lead is also quite stiff and bends into a fixed shape quite easily: I would have preferred a longer supply cable, but that is personal preference.
There is an upgrade path for the unit in the form of a higher-quality AC power supply cable, an external and an internal (20mm) fuse, as well as an in-line EMI filter (check compatibility on Sbooster's website before buying). The unit does a good job, and I have no complaints. It comes with a range of connectors, which is good, and I found the barrel connector provided was a more snug fit into my Sky Stream Puck than the same barrel connector adaptor provided with the iFi Audio iPower 5V DV power supply that I was previously using (the adapter barrel length is shorter on the Sbooster adapter).
I would certainly recommend it for consideration against other company offerings based on its competitive price and have had great fun experimenting with it. I can't comment on performance when connected to a DAC as I've not used it for that, and that use may yield more obvious results than the subtle ones I have experienced.

This is an affordable tweak for Sbooster owners and well worth it for owners of Qutest and other DACs supplied with less-than-ideal SMPS wall wart power supplies. The Sbooster website has a compatibility table for DACs. Great accessory!

If you're on the fence about getting the Sbooster, don't be. Just grab one, and you won't regret it. I ordered the ultra add on and mini USB adapter at the same time.
Definitely 100% recommended when used with the Qutest DAC.
It’s a bargain, and with the 60-day return from Future Shop, it’s a no-brainer. I don’t see you sending it back as the difference is that good.
